Talk about each Part, explain which option you chose to complete, why you chose that option (are you artistic, do you love music, etc.)
I chose Part one option one because I have a particular interest in themes analysis. By reading the book, some themes were of interest to me, and therefore I found this question very relevant to my readiness at answering it. The themes I enjoy most among them are love, religion and dreams, which this option gave me a chance to explore the themes and relate to my life.
I decided to tackle Part two, option two because of my interest in music. I enjoy creating playlists, especially when doing significant chores like cleaning up, or even when relaxing or travelling. I saw it as an exciting task to do as I could quickly identify myself with Santiago on his journey. The various parts and encounters of Santiago’s journey are accompanied by several songs that I am familiar with; hence I chose that option.
I chose Part three question 1 because it is an open-minded question that I can easily relate with. The setbacks that Santiago face during his quest for his destiny, the treasure, strengthened him and gave him so much to learn from than the gain of his treasure. The question about how he overcame is of great interest as it prompts someone to think and real-to-real life critically.
Talk about the work itself; explain it. What was your thought process? What do you hope to show/communicate with this?
The work itself employs an excellent sense of artistic style, and it flows well. The plot development is exceptionally amazing, and the way the author develops the main character is just fascinating. Moreover, the content of the work is very relevant in real-life situations where it inspires and awakens the thoughts of readers to chase their dreams.
What did the work teach you? Did you learn something about yourself? The world? Were your thoughts or beliefs challenged/affirmed? If so, how
The work taught me to be persistent and resilient in life. Everyone has a dream and destiny. The efforts we put in place towards achieving our dreams matter a lot. The small lessons we learn in life from circumstances strengthens us. I learnt that I have great potential inside me, and I have a role in bringing it out.
