Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is one of the most popular technologies that have been used in the health system. It has always been characterized by electronic storage of health information that is accessible from any health facility when demanded. This information enables easy retreatment and time saving while diagnosing a patient. The disadvantage is also that it is expansive and may not be appropriate for local health facilities. It is also restricted to information to consolidation for the patient that may lead to loss of confidentiality of the patient.

It practical for management of information, especially billing and scheduling, it is necessary for prescribing and reporting system. One advantage that it is relatively affordable for small hospitals, especially those found in the localities. The disadvantage is that it is used on a small scale in the facilities.
EMR provides a faster way of record keeping and an efficient way to handle patients will all types of medical information. The information sharing and the ability to consult other medical practitioners have been enabled. It has also reduced time which was sent in treatment and physical search of information on the patient to a more digitalized approach of record keeping. The best and the most recorded EMR software, therefore, the PCC (Wickramasinghe, 2016). Even though it is expensive, it is capable of consolidating the records of different patients to offer quick solutions to health records keeping system. The use of EMR is essentially in many ways. It eases the record-keeping and information sharing on the patients.
