Reynard, the author of “I’m Gay and African American, As a Dad, I Still Have It Easier than Working, “discusses how easy it is for guy fathers to engage in work without any difficulties when compared to women. Kingston indicates that social norms limit women to work, whereas any defined set of social norms does not determine the position of gay workers at workplaces. Kingston narrated the story of her mother, who had quit work to raise her children and family. Besides, Kingston claims that men do not get criticized for working long hours throughout the day. However, for women, their working privileges are not the same as men since their role in society is defined and treated differently. Finally, Kingston recommends that society needs to change their thoughts and expectations for mothers and fathers at workplaces. Kingston’s call for action includes changes in the workplace that accommodate family integration for employees at their workplaces.
