The Ban-It project
The Ban-It project has made me realize that I have contributed to educating the rest of the world. When I read the initial project instructions, I thought of the obvious products. However, I had to brainstorm and come up with an idea not known to most of the people. By thinking beyond the obvious, I feel that I might have educated most people on the dangers of Teflon. I look forward to transferring this idea of thinking beyond the obvious and brainstorming to other parts of my learning because it signifies critical thinking.
I feel that the hardest part of the assignment was coming up with a unique product. Without proper thinking and in-depth research, it would have been difficult for me to settle for Teflon. Regarding writing, I felt that the company producing Teflon could feel defamed. Such thoughts made me move out of my comfort zone but I realized that it was for the greater good.
If I were to go through the sequence over again, I feel that I will do the same things that I did previously such as critical thinking and researching. The two are critical in coming up with well-informed responses to the assignment prompts. Every student ought to consider researching alongside critical thinking to build papers with strong and relevant content. I do not feel that the assignment affected my thinking and writing process.
I feel that I am doing well so far. I have realized that the course requires more critical thinking when answering questions. This notion will help me in answering other questions that I will come along within the course. The key to passing the course is critical thinking alongside research.
I feel that the Ban-it! Project was important not only to me but also to the rest of the world. I am certain that there are people who do not know the health risks associated with the use of Teflon in non-stick cookware. Writing the paper made me feel like I was educating the world. It felt great!
