All my patients have records of their medications and care. I must ensure that these records are kept up to date and accurate. As a health record officer, I am responsible for managing the healthcare records of the patients. I offer efficient and effective healthcare records services to nursing and medical personnel and patients (Bowes 3rd, 2010). I update, organize, and store records in electronic records and, at times, paper-based documents. I ensure that in-patient admissions and patient appointments are processed and administered correctly. I also ensure that the healthcare records of the patients are safely stored and remain confidential.

I ensure that the patients’ information and their care are electronically recorded and stored. Meeting legal and government requirements, I guarantee that details of patients and their care are confidentially and safely. I am responsible for updating, organizing, and updating health records of patients (Bowes 3rd, 2010). I work closely with other management personnel and the wider healthcare team members. I only release patients’ information to other people as permitted by law or with the patient’s permission. Ensuring that only authorized people have access to the patients’ information is the key to preserving confidentiality.

Medical practices are gradually data-intensive. Establishing critical systems of electronic health records shall need the knowledge of doctors and other healthcare practitioners and providers, patients, management staff, ethicists, and information management and technology experts (Bowes 3rd, 2010). The combination of decision support tools, data, and expertise of doctors shall enhance the care quality. I will be assessed on both technological, medical, and clinical competence. Information technologies support my process of decision-making with tools of medical decision support that depend on external and internal information and data. My entire medical team and I trust the patient care data in making the information-based decision about the patient.
