Question Set 1:
Answer-
I operate at the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. HUD administers federal programs made to aid individuals with their housing needs, support community development, maximize homeownership, and intensify access to affordable accommodation. The company used to ensure that houses have the basic needs that people require. However, creating a program that will improve people’s quality of life by reducing house fees and providing quality affordable rental housing will be a new beginning for the organization, and it will incorporate change for its loyal customer base. The organization also wants to introduce a system that will help the homeless to buy homes and pay their rent. The department also wants to build high quality apartments, and rent them to acquire funds and help the homeless. Demand forecasting is inevitable in housing and urban development as it helps in analyzing the expectations and responses of the market. Both quantitative and qualitative demand forecasting methods must be carried out to analyze the organization’s new program. For the qualitative purpose of forecasting, the new program plan will be sent to the industry experts. These individuals will inform the company about their insights regarding the response of the market of the product. The department will be able to know the number of homes to build, the number of people who need them, and the amount they are willing to pay for the houses.
Depending on the experts’ response, changes can be made to the program or several adjustments made to maximize the expected market demand. For the quantitative method, the strategic forecasting method can perceive the current need to note down the past requirements and the forecasting thereof. The program can be disintegrated among various variables, and trend examination for every variable can be carried out. At the same time, changes can be made to the program to make it ready for the market. Numeric information and trends will involve the quantitative method, while experts’ perception will be the foundation of qualitative forecasting. The two practices will aid the company to know all-round knowledge regarding the new program.

For any business, inventory seems critical since it is a current asset, and its attributes and features must be in the knowledge of the leadership. There are several other reasons why knowledge of the inventory is essential. Firstly, inventory can be a factor that seems critical in driving the company’s profit and earnings-management of inventory results in cost-effective business procedures and considerable savings. Lastly, inventory turnover is a significant reflection of the organization’s performance. Inventory can be utilized as the business collateral for taking loans. Inventory management is a necessary top process of the business as it may result in a significant loss if there is no proper maintenance of the inventory. The organization utilizes various SCM software to keep the company’s inventory at a track. The organization does not implement JIT as the business nature does not enhance the same.

The various main benefits of operations control for business include but are not limited to improving the overall performance of the company, facilitation of vertical business integration, and optimizing company resources reducing costs in the process.
Operations management in any organization play a critical role of ensuring that the mission happens by optimizing products and services in such a way that they are highly efficient, reliable and affordable. At the Department of Housing and Urban Development, we do this by ensuring that we deliver affordable housing to everyone. Our main goal is building new affordable houses in less developed areas and setting them aside for public housing and market-rate families.

The incorporation of technology in modern houses an achievement in the modern world that has led to better houses with unique designs. This makes operations to be quick, highly efficient and cheap since the source of information is centralized.
