The lecture on ‘Education Evaluation’
The lecture on ‘Education Evaluation’ is critical in decision making and raising issues to address. My academic year has been better because of evaluating the impact of my decisions on studies and private life. For instance, I have had to cancel meeting some friends to create time for higher priority tasks such as scheduled assignments. I appreciate the purpose of evaluation in determining the course of action, assessing the achievements, checking the effectiveness and defining how to improve on the current results. The university is at the forefront of setting trends in evaluation procedures, be it in exams, campus life or research work. I have seen this because of the way students have platforms to send feedback about their experiences, check academic progress and performance in examinations or residency programs. This evaluation procedure has been relevant in contributing to the development and improvements of these programs to assist future students. Besides, once I achieve excellent scores in my medical degree, it will make evident responsibility to be a member of the Academic and Medical Community. In particular, Bloom’s taxonomy of cognitive objectives shows me the steps to take in making better decision hence better treatment of my patients. In the application of this taxonomy, first is to remember the procedure to treat the disease of an organ. Second is to explain the medical text to the patient, and third is to apply knowledge in operating the medical machines such as ultrasound. Fourth is to analyze the causes and patients lifestyles. The fifth is to critique the severity of the conditions, clinical processes and making diagnoses. Then lastly, synthesize the most effective treatments. In conclusion, I will use the knowledge in this course to be a better practitioner.
