The Metropolitan Museum is among the largest museums in New York City and also one of the leading museums around the world. It was incorporated in the year 1870, and it was opened two years later. The Metropolitan Museum is situated at the border of the center of the Museum. It has over 2.5million works of art spanning around the Museum, the Museum also presents the best human creativity in the world.
Metropolitan museum has so many human creativity that was displayed inside the Museum, I saw several collections of art at the Museum that is divided into several curatorial that are spread out in several rooms inside the Museum, I have some of the overviews of the most exciting galleries inside the Metropolitan Museum.
My experience at the Metropolitan Museum was excellent since I have never seen such a grand museum before in New York as the Metropolitan Museum, just from its massive collection of arts and architecture. The Museum has almost every art that captures one’s eyes and likes to have a look at the skills these the whole day. This Museum is very vast and significant in such a way that one may easily get lost within its corridors and wings. Things that I saw and noticed about the Metropolitan Museum was its exterior architecture. The Museum is highly influenced by European architecture. Once I was inside the Metropolitan museum I was amazed to see how the Museum was richly illuminated
Greek antiquities, this is the most famous art in the Museum, and it is among the first artists to be acquired in the year 1870, and it has been on display since then. There was another Kouros that was found in 700BC and is one of the oldest statues in the Museum. The other exciting art that I saw in the Museum was the Egyptian Antiquities, which was found the Egyptian gallery art, the most attracting part is the Dendur temple build by the Roman emperor to honor the Egyptian gods the temple was later donated to the US after its contraction. The most exciting part of art was the renovation of the Perneb burial tomb. European Antiquities, I the honor of the European art, the most significant part of this Museum’s 1st floor is dedicated to European art, with most of the galleries showing the European sculptures and the decorative art are all for European architecture. Magnificent weapons can found in the adjoining room like the sabres decorated with precious gemstones. Statues collections here include the renaissance work period from the famous artist known as Bernini, the selection of the decorative art show magnificent furniture, tapestries, and jewelry. Even much of the metropolitan Museum’s collection of medieval art is on display in one of the branches of the Metropolitan museums, in the main Museum, there was to see like the ivory objects and chalice that once was thought to be the holy grail.
On the second floor of the Museum, more European art can also be found there. The admiration part of this floor is the European painting and the sculptures. The collection of these paintings includes the masterworks from major European artists. The American art was also among the art that we were able to have a look at the Museum, these American arts occupy the three floors of the Metropolitan Museum, the most fantastic thing here that one could not afford to miss the glass stained glass made by Louis Tiffany. Another significant part is the portrait of George Washington, made by Gilbert Stuart. Plenty of glassware, furniture and historical recreation can be seen here too. The Asian art was also among art we saw at the Museum, and these Asian arts were on the second floor. They were dedicated to Japanese art, Korean art, and Chinese art, here the collection includes the ceramic and jade artifacts and also painting and giant Buddha statues.
My central reason to visit the Metropolitan Museum is that visiting historical sites brings out the best experience in discovering new things, and this helps in improving educational skills since one can see those practical things one used to read them in class. Another reason for my visit to the Museum was to explore new things in life. Also, a visit to this place was to improve my knowledge and see how people used to live in olden days. Lastly, the reason I visited the Museum is that the Museum is lovely.
