The oppression of women and children
Gender inequality is widespread, with women not having access to decent work and experiencing gender wage disparity. Women and children throughout the world are denied basic access to education and healthcare. They are under-represented in financial and political decision-making and endure violence and oppression. Our day-to-day life brings up unevenness to women from a very young age(Kleven.,2020). Beginning with the roles given in the community. Children face poor medical care, unequal education opportunities, job segregation, racism, and misrepresentation.
The good news is the world is aware of the oppressions women and children face. Therefore, measures have been placed to correct this. Organizations have given the minority a voice to take part in decision making. Second, the united nations take steps to stop child marriages and sexual harassment. There has been progress in giving access to women’s education. Lastly, organizations have taken the chance to empower women and value them in the workplace(Huang et al.,2020). This happens through acts and laws made to give privilege to women and children. UN Women was formed to hasten progress on meeting women’s needs worldwide.
