Meigh-Andrews ascertains this by stating that “The development of video as a medium of communication has been and remains heavily dependent on technology and the activity of artists’ video is inevitably as dependent on the same technological advances” (6). Through this technology, equipment usage has improved in terms of reliability, compactness, and availability. The production cost, in particular, has significantly reduced due to these technological advancements. Through advancements in technology in fields such as television broadcasting, computer hardware and software as well as mobile phones in conjunction with the aspects of thermal imaging and magnetic resonance imaging, the video art has remarkably developed. This technology, like any other aspect, has also had some negative effects on video art precisely in the historical analysis due to the issues of modernism in fine art discourse.
