The social effects of drug addiction in Wylie
Hello Class,
This is a repost of my revised thesis. I invite suggestions on how to make it better.
This essay discusses the social effects of drug addiction in Wylie, focusing on employment, housing, and education.
The key terms I came up with after completing the Learning activities include on research include: drug abuse, homelessness, and standards of living. These key terms are crucial were crucial in mining the information I needed to research on the social aspects of drug addiction in Wylie.
When I was given research on underrepresented perspectives in my community, the first thought crisscrossed my mind was the social effects of drug addiction in Wylie. I first searched in the PG library for a peer-refereed journal that discusses the topic; however, I was unsuccessful. Most of the hits I got from my searches were for other areas. I decided to go through one of them; however, it was discussing the social effects of drug abuse among the young, and I aimed to find one that considers the general population in Wylie. Even though I did not find any literature on the social effects of drug addiction in Wylie, I could identify many addicts and rehabilitation centers through my experience of traversing the city. When I did searches in other databases such as library genesis, ERIC, World cat, Google Scholar, and Science Direct, the hits were also from different areas, and they were not precise enough. Despite the fact the information in these journals that I found could support my thesis, I still could not settle. I needed a specific one for my area.
Since I could not find the specific journals, I decided to use a journal that I got from Science Direct, “Family and social aspects of substance use disorders and treatment.” I decided to choose the peer-refereed journal since journals pass through a serious peer-review procedure, and it is written by people who have researched and studied the subject for a long time. Journals also have proper citations and references foriscussesoriginal sources of information. The journal discusses how substance use disorders are associated with social, economic, legal, medical, and psychiatric problems. It also discusses the treatments and interventions taken on drug addicts. It emphasizes on how substance disorders impact the on the family and the society. From the information in this journal, I could relate to my context in Wylie; therefore, I found it supporting my thesis.
From research, I never found specific source information that discusses the information I needed with my area. Do you think it was right for me to choose a source that discusses similar aspects but not specifically for my area?
