The symptoms of Groupthink refer to decisions made by a group because of social pressure subjected to it resulting in an irrational decision-making effect.
The symptoms of Groupthink include:

- Pressure
- Morality
- Invulnerability
- Self-appointed mind guards
- Rationalization
- Illusion of unanimity
Abilene paradox occurs in a situation when the action undertaken due to the decision made contradicts the purpose of the action and the results too. The symptoms of Abilene paradox include:
- The action anxiety due to disbelief that an opposing view would result in negativity
- Negative fantasy cause b events in which people have opposing views regarded as non-team players
- Real risk meaning of being hated by the group
- Separation anxiety that an individual battle because of agreeing with the group
- Psychological reversal of the uncertainty and risk.
The team leader has the primary role in group decision making.
Decisions that lend themselves to command decisions include last-minute decisions, when trust is increased, in case of good results realized and also when bad results that lead to discontent and achieved. The command decisions subject the leader to make decisions without involving other team members due to the demand of the forces placed on him or her.
I have been a part to a group decision that went awry. I was in favor of the ultimate decision because it resulted in the abandonment of the previous decisions that had been made by releasing the pressure that was involved in the awry decisions implemented before.
In a group consensus, everyone within the team is given the freedom to participate in making decisions that will benefit the entire team. One who speaks out against a group consensus is likely leak information n meant for the group to non-partisan individuals. Hence, such a person should be censured.
When the group goes awry, it will interfere with the group’s cohesiveness. Instead, it would make the group to be unable to deliberate essential issues facing the organization. Members of the group will not develop contingency plans as they will spend most of their time contemplating on their flaws.
The group might account for real mistakes that were made when the allowed for trespassing into a foreign territory without being permitted. USS Pueblo was capture as a result of US trespassing into North Korean sea territory. The USS Pueblo had passed with more than 4 miles. The sailor on the USS Pueblo had shown peaceful gesture through the modifier when they were approached by the USS Pueblo but the North Korea became sensitive of the gesture shown to them. hence, this resulted to the mistake made.
To present the groupthink, the power of the government was not supposed to be abused. Besides the parties were to present their intentions openly. changes such as informed decision making process was ideal as it could have resulted to better consequences such as apologies to the culture that was unaware of the middle finger gesture that they had received wrongly.
Leadership style improve group productivity in that an effective leader inspires and motivates his subjects to achieve objectives of the organization. Members are aware of what is expected of them when a leader sets out clear organizational objectives and norms. Thus it would increase productivity.
Social loafing affects productivity in that it reduces accountability making individuals irresponsible. however, cases of loafing occur when the group lacks motivation or when an individual thins other are more skilled than him or her. Hence, social loafing decreases productivity.
A good leader is made by her or her structure to work with various people within a group and courageously make informed decisions without being subjected to stress. The leader’s success due to his or her abilities depend on his ability to make informed decisions and solve problems arising in the organization. The external influences to a leader’s success relies on the team that he or she leads for insane, a productive team will make an individual’s leadership to thrive. A leader is bound to succeed or fail due to the set-out circumstances because conditions change and a leader’s abilities may not blend well with the presented conditions that leading to either his success or failure.
