These products were brought to Europe by the Arabs traders during the Renaissances and reformation.  In 1700 the European thinkers such as Voltaire, Leibniz, and Physioctras were interested in Chinese philosophy. Free prints and improved agriculture that influenced economic efficiency and increased productivity, among others.  The Chinese government continued to enforce monopolies on certain manufactured items and market goods to boost revenues.

After the fall of the Romanian emperor, the middle ages began in Western Europe. Europe encountered many problems, including back deaths. During these fall invaders began to invade Western Europe. The Vikings were the first foreign nation to attack the government and invade settlements in England, Ireland, France, and Belgium. Feudalism was another negative impact of the fall of Rome that resulted in the need for political stability. In feudalism, the nobles held land in exchange for military services while the peasants worked in their areas.
