The theme of environmentalism is arguably centered around Man Vs. Man, in a sense, that a person views Mr. Fox as a full- developed character, and his conflicts are with satisfied farmers in the story.
The theme is evident in the scenario where farmers cultivated the land to gain wealth, and wild animals try to use this advantage as well by stealing a small amount of the food (James, 330). The environmentalism theme is proved by the loss of biodiversity and climate change in the region. The animal’s life is at risk as well as the farms which provide food to the farmers and animals. The environmental problem is de facto associated with discourses of globalization. In the fantastic Mr. Fox context, humans have responsibility shaping the sociocultural of ecological change and influence policymaking in their environmental transformation.
Another part that support this theme is when a human attempt to stop the wild animals from stealing their food. Whereby the outcome does affect not only the animal they want to kill (Mr. Fox), but also the whole ecosystem by destroying many of the hills near their farms and end up starving all the animals in the region (Adrienne, 18). In the scene, the theme is evident because the environmental the bases in which both humans and animals can grow or access food.
When human bled animals to acquire wealth, the theme of environmentalism is quite evident as animals use the benefit to acquire their food (Michael, 182) In the scene, the theme is shown in the relationship between the environment, human and animals. Humans depend on the environment to be able to bleed their animals while animals depend on humans to get food.
As you can see the climate change is a clear indication of the environmental theme in the context. Still, in the end, the farmers are not intelligent nor skilled as the wild animals, and animals can live peacefully with one another.
