The video” Finding Your Purpose and Passion”

My purpose in life is to make positive contributions to other people’s lives through creating meaningful learning experiences. I am a candidate for MATESOL and focus on becoming an English teacher in China. In the education settings, I focus on helping students to improve their English and critical thinking skills. The video, “How to Know your Life Purpose in Five Minutes,” describes various questions that people can use to determine their purpose (TEDx, 2013). Based on Leipzig’s guidelines, my purpose in life is to support students in learning English and critical thinking abilities. I do the teaching activities for them. The key indicators of the benefits of my services in the students’ lives include improvements in academic performance and the ability to make sound decisions using excellent critical thinking skills.

The video” Finding Your Purpose and Passion” describes the significance of living well and fully. The speakers emphasize the need to reflect on the fruitful things that we do each day. According to them, it is important for people to determine whether they are happy about what they do (TJOP, 2014). Consequently, they can choose things that align with passion and focus on offering the best output. The video makes it clear that the best way to find purpose ad passion is to focus on things that change other people’s lives. Based on course readings, a clear understanding of one’s life purpose stimulates freedom and free will in the performance of productive activities (Thiroux & Krasemann, 2012). I believe that teaching is my purpose since I derive a feeling of accomplishment whenever students learn new knowledge and skills from me. I also enjoy helping them to discover their potential and work on shortcomings that limit learning outcomes.

Teaching English is my life purpose since it helps me to experience a sense of self-accomplishment after making meaningful transformations on students’ lives. The main values that guide my actions in life include integrity, hard work, and trust. I prioritize professional regulations as key guidelines for delivering the best services. If I was working in a different organization with another purpose, I think that my rewards from performing daily tasks would be compromised, especially if it does not prioritize impacting new knowledge on learners. I would not enjoy working in any organization that prioritizes financial gains over the student’s needs.
