Theoretical Foundation of Nursing Crisis
The nursing crisis requires the proper address to ensure that the problem is managed within the time frame provided. Any health facility upon realizing that it has few nursing personnel it needs to create a conceptual framework that helps in solving the issue. In regard, many nursing theories address many issues but in a varying degree depending on the relevance of the problem at hand. The impacts of such frameworks are felt directly on the nursing staff that is involved in the problem. Also, patients who are at the frontline of seeking medication are affected directly by the interventions that are made. Hence, the paper gives a critical analysis of the theoretical framework for the nursing crisis and the individual grand effect on nurse licensure.
Practice level nurse theory refers to the concepts that are put down to handle a specific issue in the nursing career (Bender, 2016). The theory requires addressing the issue as a subject of matter that impacts the changes that can be made on the field. It describes all the interventions that can be put in place to predict an outcome of the problem that is in the subject. The suggestions are provided based on the source of the problem that is experienced. The nurse staffing crisis is caused by a limited number of students that have an interest in pursuing the nursing career. The poor working environment characterized by low salaries contributes to a small number of nurses in the health facility. As such, the practice level nurse theory looks into such problems and how they can be worked out to bring a long-lasting solution. The proposed solutions are based on solving the issues mentioned to cause the nurse staffing crisis and predict the changes in the issue of the crisis. Hence, the practice level nurse theory serves as the best conceptual framework for handling the issue.
Besides, the nursing process theory outlines the purposes of the nurses in the health care facility. According to the theory, nurses are required to provide services that restore the health of the patient with their experience and skills (Mangare et al., 2016). The qualification of the nurses in the medical field is given a priority in attaining the needs that patient expect when visiting a nursing facility. As such, the nurse staffing crisis is expected to be intervened with the available nurses for the best outcome and experience of the patients. The nurse staffing crisis requires the individuals that are committed to their work, and with an increase in the number of nurses, the crisis will be managed effectively.
The information has impacted my nursing practice in a manner that changes my perception of nurse burnout. Need to use my skills and professionalism to help the patient despite the exhaustion remains challenged. As a nurse, I am supposed to give priority to the condition of the patients more than the pressing issue of work as it is what matters most. Hence, I am required to provide little complains on the burnout during the work and consider the workload after the condition has been restored. Besides, the nurse staffing crisis is likely to result in many medical errors that can cause the licensing of the nurses to be revoked. The authorities might feel that some nurses are not taking responsibility, and instead, it’s the effects of the nursing burnouts.
In conclusion, the practice level nurse theory is important in ensuring that the nurse staffing crisis is managed effectively. The issue is handled in a cause-effect manner that helps to change the situation. Besides, the practice nurse theory serves as an essential approach in solving some problems that hinder quality services at the health facility. As s nurse, I am challenged with the conceptual frameworks which put me into the task to minimize on complaining.
