Topic 5 DQ1 program or intervention
Topic 5 DQ1
Identify a specific program or intervention offered by your practicum site and imagine that you have been tasked with expanding the scope of this intervention.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has approximately twenty-seven programs and interventions. Physical activity is the program/intervention that I will work with to expand the scope of the response. Regular physical activity aids improve your overall well-being and fitness and lower the risk of many chronic diseases (CDC, 2020).
This expansion will include multiple sites and multiple intervention cycles
Adding only a modest amount of Physical Activity to an individual’s weekly routine can have a profound impact on their mental and emotional health. For example, this intervention cycle can improve skills, which can have a substantial effect on the success of the client’s life by influencing his/her earning potential. Understanding why some people are physically active and others inactive leads to evidence-based planning of effective programs that target factors known to cause inactivity.
You will need to assess the effectiveness of current efforts to expand the reach and scale of this intervention.
The effectiveness of physical activity can be reached if it becomes part of an individual’s daily life, such as carrying food, cycling, lifting weights at the gym, replenishing store shelves, or throwing a ball. Physical activity is all about moving and staying fit, so it is wise to use it in a way that incorporates physical activity and creates physical excursions. This is one of the most critical ways to expand the reach and scale of the above intervention. However, failure to the level can cause a range of problems including depression, anxiety, depression and anxiety disorders
What evaluation questions would you ask to assess program or intervention effectiveness?
Below evaluation questions are handy;
Are you active in your physical activity, and do you consider this as a first interaction?
As an adult, do you wonder how much activity you need each week and what you can do to improve your health and reduce your risk of developing certain diseases?
What are the most important advantages of incorporating physical activity is that all forms of exercise that cause life involve little or no physical activity?
How would you determine whether it is feasible to expand the program or intervention?
The interventions feasibility scale can be attained if the participants are encouraged to find ways to change their lives so that physical activity promotes overall well-being, and to set specific goals. Pedometers should be provided to participants to measure physical activity and give instructions to ensure the safety of the workout, including the use of a perceived exercise scale.
