Unemployment

Unemployment is a term used to describe individuals who are jobless and are still searching without getting one. This term cannot refer to people who are jobless and are not actively seeking a job. An individual is considered unemployed based on several factors, such as having the required skills in the job market and not being lucky to secure a post of their choice. Demand deficient unemployment is the most common form of unemployment where there are more people than the available jobs (Paul, Hassel, & Moser, 2018).

Marcelle has been working full-time in an automobile manufacturing firm that has closed, which is known as cyclical unemployment, which happens in the case of demand deficient in the market (Paul et al., 2018). It happens in case of a change in the economy, which is unavoidable. This change leads to unemployment because the business finds it hard to survive in harsh condition with fewer currencies. There is a low market share and business demands for fewer works so that it can afford to pay them good wages, and this makes the contracts to be revoked and lend many unemployed.

Marcelle will receive the unemployment benefits in the state of Florida. Marcelle is not in business due to defaults that are not his own. Marcelle cannot manipulate the economic changes that are inevitable in modern society. The guarantee that he will be able to benefit from the unemployment insurance is because he is seeking for a job. The added fact is that Marcelle is temporarily out of business; for example, Marcelle says that he has been looking very hard for a new job, which means that he is ready for one. He has also been working full-time, which is a requirement in Florida’s unemployment benefits platform (Heflin, & Mueser, 2019).

Dominic has been working full-time as a hairdresser in Cincinnati and quits his work to get to New York. Dominic’s reason for leaving the job was not stipulated, and it, therefore, seems like he departs from the position for the pleasure of residing in a new city. This means that he is not actively seeking a job and thus cannot be said to be unemployed, and if so, then the best theory to describe his situation is the hidden unemployment theory. The theory states that the statistics underestimate the actual number of unemployed people because of primarily being unrecorded.

Dominic would not receive the unemployment benefits. The guidelines laid down by Florida require that a person needs to have worked for at least thirty-six weeks, which is opposite in our case because Dominic has only been working for a week. There is also a minimum requirement wage, which Dominic could not have reached by working in a single work as a hairdresser. He is also not ready for a job because he is not seeking one and that he voluntarily quitted his career, and that was his default. Parting his job disqualifies him from getting any unemployment benefits because of his poor decisions (Heflin, & Mueser, 2019).

Francine has been working part-time in a ski resort and leaves because it is summer and wish to apply again during winter. This is cyclical unemployment, which happens in case of low demand and changes of seasons in the economic realms (Paul et al., 2018). Her decision seems to be formal since, during summer, you would not expect people to visit the ski resort, and so, she wishes to reapply later during winter when the season will be better for the business to flow. A low turnover of customers necessitated this, and this, in turn, contributed to the low demand.

Francine will not receive unemployment benefits. Although she leaves the business during a low season when there is no demand for the services, she was on a part-time contract. The unemployment benefits guidelines require a person to have attained a full-time work contract, which upon termination, they will give the benefits to a said period. She has gone out of business by defaults that are not her own, and despite holding the idea that she will reapply when the season is back, for example, during winter, she will not have the benefits.

Beauvoir has been working as a full-time secretary in an office. He gets replaced by an individual who is well versed with computers and thus drop the job. The job was lost due to a lack of appropriate skills since the business is upgrading to make use of the current technology. The structural unemployment theory states that some people can go unemployed due to the mismatch between the available jobs and the skills that are required so that an individual can get employed (Paul et al., 2018). For example, Beauvoir lost his job due to a lack of computer skills.

Beauvoir will receive unemployment benefits. This is because he was employed full- time and that he has been looking for another job despite having inadequate skills. He is willing and ready to take a job if he finds one (Heflin, & Mueser, 2019). It is well to note that he will only enjoy the benefits for a short period, not until he gets a new job. For example, he did not voluntarily quit the job, and he would have wished to continue.

As I conclude, unemployment is an issue that should be considered severe. Unemployment leads to many vices in society, such as robbery with violence, rape, drug abuse, among others. The clamps are fueled by the fact the unemployed people are always idle, and most of them roam about the streets. If the government well addresses this issue, it might fade away with time since economists believe that it is the role of the government to take the complete control of the country’s economy and thus save the lives of its citizens. This is not a current phenomenon and will continue to bother until it is revised and resources get set aside to deal with unemployment.
