Utilitarianism
Utilitarianism is normative that has existed for years in a society based on the perception that the action is taken to be right if it tends to bring promote happiness and wrong if it affects the happiness negatively in the whole society or people affected by it (Sidgwick, 2019). Organ Donor problem is referred to as a process, or transportation ethics through which individuals organisms are donated from one person to another due to medical conditions to support the life of others. It has turned to be a problem due to increased demand for organ transportation over the years resulting in human trafficking and transplant tourism turning to be a threat in society (Dagher & Nabil, 2017). Among the cases that cover organ transplant in Indian include the shortage organs to meet patients demand, individuals choices and reasons to donate organs, the menthol status of the person donating, the kidney scandals cases that entail individuals failing to compensate the middle man, after donation, cases of liver, hearth, and kidney transplants from the deceased donors, cases of medical problems like infections and so own among other cases that have been evidenced. Bernard Williams’s overs escape from utilitarianism by enlightening the rights and choices that one has to undertake to save the rising threats covering organ donation through the procedure to be followed. William is right as it gives individual opportunity to understand the circumstances surrounding them and make the choice that brings happiness to them at large saving the life of an individual.
Due to the effect of the covid19 outbreak that has changed the routine of conducting things and socialization in society, most of the countries have turned out to give their views in controlling the spread saving the life of an individual. However several laws have been set to mitigate the spread of disease thus requires the members of the society to practice hygiene, social distancing, and so on. Thus, snitching those who fail to follow government orders has been common. People have been prohibited from socialization denying them the right to meet and come together to achieve the goals, right to call the witness, and inform other in case of accusations and have been accused right to move live and travel freely within the country following the lockdown (Steigleder,2016). However, utilitarianism allows one to maintain happiness and do what may develop happiness to those affected. Thus based on this ethic following the threat of the outbreak the social distancing should be considered as it reduces the risk for the spread of the virus saving the life of the loved one or people in the society. Hence individuals who fail to take measures should be arrested based on utilitarianism despite the rights of an individual since it puts others to the risk endangering more life.
