Violation of Human Rights by the Police
Philosophical claim
Human rights and freedom are meant to protect all human beings from brutality, exploitation, and unfair treatment. It is essential for those in authority, especially police officers, to know that human rights apply equally to all citizens regardless of race and should be respected and upheld by all. Police officers that violate human rights and freedom should be arrested as they break the constitution and the ethical code of conduct when they use excessive force and brutally treat people because of their race.
- The reason for choosing this topic is that police officers have been fond of violating human rights for a long time, all in the name of maintaining order and peace. The saddest thing about this issue is that those police officers tend to target people from the black community where they use excessive force to kill them without following the right protocols. It is time to address the issue of racial police brutality and racial profiling as it has been a significant issue that people have not given the attention it needs.
- Lack of dealing with racist police officers who turn into killer police targeting black people has resulted in riots and protests that affect the peace and order of our country. The latest case where George Floyd was brutally murdered by a police officer even after he was secured and handcuffed showed how bad police brutality on black people in America is. Unfortunately, racism has affected even the institutions that have been vested with the authority to serve, protect, and treat all citizens equally.
- Violation of human rights and freedoms by the police officer has been a significant cause of the public uproar, protests, and demonstrations in America. It is surprising that since the day when Martin Luther King was assassinated up-to-date, there has no change has been made in the police force as racist police officers are still mistreating innocent black people. It is high time for the government and all the institutions that are involved in following up police conduct to rise and put a stop to the brutal and unethical behavior of the police towards black people.
- Everyone needs to know that that race does not matter as all human beings are created equally by God.the skin color of a person does not have to be used as a determiner of who gets what or treated in a certain way. Human rights are fundamental and should be respected and upheld by everyone, no matter the position they hold in society, and it should apply equally to all citizens. Racism must be stopped and eradicated from society to achieve equality and fairness in all sectors, and those that violate human rights based on race should be prosecuted and imprisoned.
