Virtualized Security Challenges

Virtualization is a revolution of technology that divides functions from the underlying hardware. It is considered that virtualized technology is targeted for malicious activities by criminals and attackers. This response emphasizes the assessment of security challenges that a virtualized environment, such as virtual servers, faces, and their differences from physical servers issues.

In this growing industry, attacks can be made when migrating virtual machines from different host servers. There are attacks where you find out that security is bypassed and overcome to access the virtualized machines’ data ( Modi et al. 2017). The methods used to overcome security in virtualizations are the access of the policies in the controls, port blocking, firewalls, decryption, and encryption methods. There are other challenges like data leakages, denial of service attacks, and outflow of the virtual machine (VM).

There is a significant difference between the security challenge a virtual environment faces and the physical server’s security issues. For instance, a virtual server will experience the software issues like being attacked online and their details leaked on the internet. One can access information and the denial of service. In contrast, the physical server, maybe experience challenges like fire in the building, terrorism, or even theft. In conclusion, the significant difference from the physical challenges is that virtualized security challenges touch on the software.
