VUCA and STEEP
Question 1
The two tools VUCA and STEEP has helped me to develop ideas that aided a lot in self-understanding and also understanding the world around me. The uncertainty and complexity themselves and even the world around them. It is a fact that we live in a world which is continuously changing and becomes unstable each day. These changes are unpredictable and are happening at a faster rate, and experiences are losing relevance. Due to the complexity of the changes and unforeseen events, ambiguity ventures in which affects decision making, courage and awareness of implementing a strategy.
On the other hand, STEEP analysis involves variables which are also unpredictable. The variables such as social, technological, economic, environmental and political have some degree of uncertainty, and in a way, they influence our lives. An example of VUCA and STEEP relationship is at this time word is facing a pandemic of coronavirus. The coronavirus issue is volatile, which has resulted from uncertainty and has caused ambiguity and profoundly affected STEEP variables.
Question 2
Understanding VUCA and STEEP can help me to plan for the future. As it is noted, it is a fact that the world is full of surprises and uncertain events. These events affect our lifestyles which, in a way, influences our decisions towards shaping the future. It is a fact that when an unpredictable event strikes, it brings changes to the routine of what we do our activities. When life is at a normal state, the issue of spending habits and investments runs smoothly. Besides, the social, technology, economic, environmental and political variables run as per expected. But due to the uncertainty and complexity of the world, there is a need to plan for the future. Uncertainty leads changing of variables such as economy and investments. Therefore, we need to save and change the spending habits to cater for VUCA.
