Website Project

The first phase of this project is concept development. The business requires a corporate website that is consumer-oriented. As an office equipment seller in Boston, market visibility is a critical element. In the modern-day market scene, online business presence has become an essential element of consideration. The website will be used aimed at various objectives – which need to be defined (Buehring, 2020). First, it will be aimed at presenting a clear definition of the company. Also, the web address is critical and must be easy to read and remember. The design map must be comfortable and straightforward to enhance the ease of navigation. A prominent call to action must be featured – in this case, aspects such as requesting quotes and purchasing must be highlighted (Walker, 2017). Also, the website must facilitate ease of contact with the company. Finally, the site must feature quality, original, and fresh content. The deliverables of this phase is a website type based on the expected website targets. The idea derived from this phase is an e-commerce website that is also branding oriented.

The website design approach will be minimal but oriented towards maximum reach. From this perspective, the website will be designed to include numerous critical features. Among the essential elements will be search engine optimization, social media marketing, advertising, remarketing and retargeting, sales nurturing and automation, email marketing, and content marketing. These will be vital elements that will be critical in extending the whole website structure to enhance reach. Being an e-commerce website it requires a sales-oriented interface to facilitate product sales. Also, it requires a brand marketing approach. The morphing of the basic design to play two roles ensures that there is a practical implementation of overall company targets in marketing and sales. A data-efficient design will be favored to facilitate aspects such as engagement optimization, analytics, and reporting, among others.

Content development is a fundamental aspect of the website design process. As a project manager, it is critical to understand that this deliverable requires significant attention and commitment. Innovation and creativity are crucial. First, content that presents a unique value proposition must be developed. The website must include essential content. Essential content in this context will encompass aspects such as services and products information, company portfolio, an about page that is compelling, client testimonials, among others. The language used will be a critical element in enhancing client interaction. Finally, a content schedule will be developed to ensure that the website is actively operating with fresh, relatable, and timely information (Rowe, 2019). The deliverables for this phase of the project are a sufficient project design that is based on the established criteria.

Developing and registering the perfect domain name is a critical process. The domain name is an element that must be developed early to ensure that it fits in with other aspects of the business – primarily the business name. It must be short, memorable, and unique with ease of spelling, and relevant to the website (Gregory, 2019). In this case, the first approach would be to use the company name, although the criteria addressed above might not be wholly applicable. Also, being a for-profit corporate website, the approach to selecting a relevant top-level domain will be discussed keenly to ensure a unique yet efficient final domain name (Gregory, 2019). After the development of the domain name, the next process will be its registration. The primary outcome of this phase – domain name development and certification will ensure that it is developed and reserved for the company’s use.

Successful online presences are based on robust websites. Hosting is a critical aspect of this process. For instance, hosting affects elements such as website load time, risk of downtime, data security and backup, technical support, and search engine optimization rankings, among others (Crawford, 2018). These are all critical operational elements. The website will be targeting heavy traffic with a considerable database volume. The deliverables for this phase are an online-ready website structure with all technical and infrastructural aspects addressed through outsourced hosting services, and a registered and ready to use domain name. The final element is the publication of the developed web pages.

The website maintenance process will be based on the following criteria—first, a thorough review of all website pages. Secondly, website forms and other processes testing will be carried out, for instance, checkout. The review of critical elements such as analytics evaluation and key performance indicators analysis must be addressed. With the risk of cybercrime, aspects such as security updates and bug fixes must also be fixed. Backing up critical data will be a necessary and essential part of the process. Finally, there will be the update of copyright notices, dates, contact data, and a review and update of vital legal information, such as disclaimers (Kucheriavy, 2018). The deliverables of this phase are an up to date website that is efficient and effective.

In conclusion, all these elements must be addressed to ensure that Offex Limited gets the best value for money invested in the website. It must be noted that as this is a dynamic project, many different options could work to fit the same targets. Overall, the various phases of managing the project enhance the ease of progress monitoring and evaluation.
