            Weightlifting is one of the most common activities that people take for leisure or even for health reasons. Most people take weightlifting as a norm whenever one needs to maintain an attractive body shape or burning excessive calories. Health experts advise people always to carry out some exercise to keep their health in check. The benefits of weightlifting generally outdo the negative impacts that may come up in the long run. Furthermore, weightlifting has come out as the solution to most challenges, among them depression, overweight complications, and general improvement of liveliness. Although excessive weightlifting may lead to negative impacts such as injuries, individuals who follow the laid-down procedures without failing end up enjoying the several benefits. Weightlifting has positive effects on the health of an individual save for some negative impacts, such as injuries that can be addressed by having an advisor.

Depression has been on the increase in the past few years, raising concern on the existing measures on the management of the issue. A report published by the World Health Organization showed that more than 4.4 percent of the world’s population is suffering from depression (World Health Organization, 3). The idea behind depression is that people have a challenge in dealing with their every-day complications. However, weightlifting may come as a solution since it provides a way of helping an individual to have a break from the usual difficulties of life. Generally, depression comes mightily when an individual allows their thoughts to take control of their mental peace. Therefore, depression is essential in helping individuals to have fresh ideas and have a higher capability of dealing with depression. Besides, a busy person will hardly have time to concentrate on negative thoughts that play a significant role in pushing an individual towards depression. Moreover, weightlifting ensures that the symptoms of depression, though diverse, are appropriately managed.

The symptoms of depression vary among individuals. Some individuals suffer from low moods and loss of interest from social activities. Other people show signs of increased anxiety due to insecurities caused by previous experiences. Weightlifting is effective in addressing most of the symptoms emanating from depression. Symptoms such as low mood and reduced social interest reduce significantly when an individual takes part in weightlifting. Although weightlifting cannot be made as a cure for depression, its role in managing the symptoms of depression cannot be overlooked. Therefore, individuals have been choosing to invest in weightlifting as a way of managing depression menace. Also, anxiety, which is common among people with depression, can be addressed through weightlifting. Generally, weightlifting is a difficult task, and individuals always face weightlifting resistance. The resistance helps solve the problem of anxiety and helps individuals to manage stress for other life activities. Generally, the number of workouts that an individual carries out in a week is not significant on the rate of improvement. However, the benefits are enjoyed similarly by individuals who at least engage in weightlifting.  Moreover, weightlifting helps in maintaining attractive body shape.

One of the challenges facing people in the present generation is difficulties in maintaining attractive body shape. The lifestyles that people choose daily have been having considerable impacts on the shape of their bodies by having excessive fat deposits. Furthermore, the deposition of excessive body fats increases the risk of developing ailments such as diabetes and growing obese (Woods, 54). Weightlifting is essential in ensuring a continuous burning of unnecessary body fats by building body muscles. The number of calories that the body burns in a day determines the extent to which an individual will maintain their shape in the long run. Generally, weightlifting increases the overall lean body mass, which eventually increases the number of calories that the body can burn in a day. Besides, people have been struggling to find an effective combination of diet that will help in maintaining calories at manageable levels. However, a combination of a healthy diet and weightlifting provides better outcomes. Therefore, weightlifting can be used as an alternative to therapeutic approaches used to burn excess calories. Moreover, weightlifting helps the body to store its fats in useful areas instead of harmful parts such as the belly.

The human body is made in a way that it has reserves to store fats that are later used for energy and repair purposes. However, the production of excessive fats affects the way the body accesses the parts where fats should be stored (Singh, Alka, and Navin, n. p). When the storage of fats is compromised, the body is forced to create other reserves that eventually become harmful or even uncomfortable to handle. For example, excess fats may be deposited on the walls of blood vessels leading to a blockage in the long run. Also, the belly may be alternative storage for excessive fat affecting the body shape of an individual. Burning down excessive body fats may not happen on the spot, and an individual may be forced to engage in a continuous process before achieving the expected results. Weightlifting may not provide the expected results in the short run. However, the development of muscles gradually creates an avenue for having excess fats deposited without having negative impacts on the body. Therefore, the long-term impact of weightlifting is seen through how the exercises help in developing muscles and creating additional storage for fats where the body can easily access them for use. Moreover, weightlifting is essential in making an individual strong and fit for the activities they carry out daily.

Confidence and liveliness are essential in maintaining a healthy life. Individuals become more confident whenever they find a way to carry out their daily activities without challenges. Daily challenges require strength and fitness to boost the confidence of the individuals. Individuals with stronger muscles carry out their activities easily and are motivated to keep improving their productivity. Primarily, weightlifting trains an individual and their body to act against resistance and become stronger in the process (Mills, Kathryn, Dudley and Collins, n. p). Therefore, weightlifting not only helps in building strong muscles but also helps in creating a strong self for individuals hence ease in addressing daily challenges. Also, aging comes with a significant loss of strength and muscle mass, which can be restored by weightlifting. The aging process begins at the age of thirty, and people struggle to keep their strength from wearing off. Some people choose to go for medicinal approaches that may, in turn, work against their bodies. Also, the aging process comes with an increased risk of adding unnecessary weight that calls for intervention. Fortunately, weightlifting provides a solution to the challenges of muscle depreciation and increasing weight. Moreover, the need for body mechanics and the management of chronic diseases requires weightlifting as an effective alternative.

Individuals who do not engage in exercises end up having poor body mechanics and poor management of chronic diseases. Body mechanics come in when an individual requires the strength to remain upright and maintain their healthy posture. The maintenance of balance, especially for aging people, requires stronger muscles, and weightlifting is effective. Furthermore, a body that has maintained balance can effectively maintain an improved posture. Besides, posture is part of the body shape and is crucial to people who are concerned with maintaining attractive body shape. Also, weightlifting is essential in creating proper management of chronic diseases. Some chronic conditions have remained a challenge for most people who have been struggling with medication. Conditions such as arthritis have, however, appeared as a challenge to address. Weightlifting, however, is effective in helping victims to maintain fresh mental health that helps to maintain their medication. Besides, arthritis may be caused by muscle complications, and weightlifting solves the challenges caused by muscle complications. Also, weightlifting may help in creating better management of most types of diabetes. Generally, diabetes is associated with poor management of glucose in the body. Weightlifting helps in building glucose-management systems in the body. However, weightlifting may be associated with negative impacts that are, however, outdone by the benefits.

Weightlifting is not only associated with benefits since some people find themselves on the negative side of weightlifting. Generally, weightlifting is associated with benefits such as improving the mood of individuals and having positive health impacts. However, the process of weightlifting is subject to errors that might lead to disasters when individuals fail to fall the primary guidelines set by advisors (Burke and Burke, 2). One of the negative impacts of weightlifting happens in competition avenues. Generally, individuals have the maximum level of weight that their bodies can support. However, the determination to compete and win medals pushes people into lifting heavier weights than the ones that their bodies can support. The general impact is that they end up destroying their muscles. Also, heavyweights may lead to joint dislocations and might make individuals disabled in severe cases. Another negative impact of weightlifting is seen where weightlifting leads to injuries that may eventually lead to death. However, the negative impacts of weightlifting happen if the victims fail to follow the laid-down procedures. If individuals heed the advice of their advisors, the negative impacts can be entirely avoided. Generally, weightlifting has more positive impacts compared to the negative impacts.

In sum, weightlifting has positive impacts on the health of an individual. However, weightlifting may have some negative impacts, such as injuries that can be addressed by having an advisor. For example, weightlifting may come as a solution since it provides a way of helping an individual to have a break from the normal difficulties of life. Also, weightlifting is essential in ensuring a continuous burning of unnecessary body fats by building body muscles. Weightlifting helps in the development of muscles, which gradually creates an avenue for having excess fats deposited without having negative impacts on the body.
