What are some financial challenges you faced as a full-time student and how have you overcome them?

When the high school results were out, I jumped in exhilaration having performed exemplary. I felt on top of the world, and my family was so proud of me. I was much eager to join the University and pursue my dream career. In a few months, I was lucky to join Georgia State University together with my allies. I was admitted successfully and booked a room in one of the hostels around the campus. Life was so awesome the first few weeks as I integrated and socialized with my classmates around the campus. Things got astray after two months. I started getting worried about my spending habits. My parents had budgeted for me $4oo each month for my upkeep having in mind that the accommodation fee was fully settled. At first, I thought the money was too much, but believe you me, within two weeks I was damn broke. I could not get money to pay for food or even buy new clothes having in mind campus lifestyle is quite flashy. I could not get back to my parents as my dad was so much strict on his sweat. Therefore, I could not afford the life I admired and those of my folks. I took some soft loan from my friend and agreed that anytime my parents would settle with I would refund back. Before the month ended, I was in a massive debt of several friends and classmates. My money was never enough, and I had to avoid some of my creditors. I was forced to skip some meals especially breakfast.

Another challenge was that I could not save enough. Every time I had money in my pockets, I found myself enjoying drinks in the bar and lost vast sums of money in betting. I was introduced to betting by my friends, and I had spent almost two months without any winnings. I did not know how to manage cash.

One day, I felt that I had suffered enough. I was determined to change my lifestyle and friends who had misled me completely. I stayed away from the betting team and ensured that my computer could not access any betting site. I only had to stick with only one of my classmates, and we helped each other in terms of needs. Within two months, I realized that I could save at least $100 every month. I could afford new clothes, shoes and I never ran out of shopping. I prepared a budget on how I spent money for upkeep and other miscellaneous expenses. Anytime I went shopping in the supermarket; I carried my shopping list to avoid impulse buying. I spent most of my time with my friend in the library and away from the bars and mall. I was also able to cut down the habit of alcoholism, and I saved more than I thought. Surely, financial discipline in university is quite vital for the survival of any student.

Discuss your time at Georgia State University and how you manage to balance life, academics, and working.

Life at Georgia state university main campus is quite enjoyable and luxurious. Ranging from the ultra-modern library, competitive and specialized lecturers and a conducive environment made me feel at home and ready for work. After my two year stay in the sub-campus, I was lucky to transfer to the main campus due to some health problems. When I joined the school, I made friends with many people, and within my first year of stay, I was made the class representative. I was so much privileged to lead my colleagues. I had made a vow that throughout my campus life, I would stay away from drug abuse and alcoholism. I joined the Catholic Church choir because singing was my talent. I also joined the university peace club that would travel to different places to empower society on living better lives. Any time that I was not in class, I was occupied either in the peace club or church activities. Within the second year, I got involved in playing tennis. I practiced this game so hard, and within no time I was a specialist and a good performer. We have won several trophies in the university championship competitions. We spend a lot of time in the library during leisure to conduct more research and held group discussions. This has helped to improve my grades, and I am quite confident that I will earn first-class honors at the end of the course. On my second year of study, I ran through a hell of time struggling with financial challenges. My dad lost his job, and I had to adjust to the situation. My monthly upkeep was so little such that I could not comfortably survive in school. Following my sociable life, I was determined to get into campus politics.

I registered to vie for the campus secretary general. I spent some of my funds and got big support from allies to manage through the campaign process. Luckily, when the elections were held, I clinched the seat with 88% of the total votes. I was lucky to enjoy a salary and some hefty allowances as a student leader. I honestly some of my savings and invested in a university barber shop. It was substantially a successful plan, and it was paying well. I could manage my upkeep without stressing my parents, pay for the school fees and live a better life. Up to now, life is quite remarkable and I am sure that I will pass my examinations.

Explain your personal and family background, what you want to accomplish after college, and how your education and skills support these goals.

I am a first born in a family of five living in New York City. My father is a doctor, and my mother is a lawyer. I am so much focused on succeeding and determined on my academics so that I can make a great and competent motor engineer. My parents have a motor vehicle manufacturing company in the city that is doing quite well. During holidays, my dad offers me a chance to work on a part-time basis in the company to get more skills on how several activities run there. I have established more friendly networks with the workers and am much comfortable learning manual skills from them. I am in third year specializing in motor engineering, and I believe that I stand a great chance to succeed in my family company and steer it effectively.

My academic performance is awe-inspiring and I think that I will be productive and helpful in the company operations. I can assemble all major motor parts and even design an improvised material. When I finish my studies, I want to settle in the company as junior staff. I will learn and acquire more skills involving company operations ranging from manual work to financial discipline. I will undertake a six months short course to study for a financial management certificate. This will help me get more skills about managing sales, managing workers and customers since I have no trust doubts with my parents. I will use my computer knowledge to open an online website whereby we can market our products in the global world. I will focus both on local customers and major exports in different countries. I believe that within two years, the company financial status will have appreciated. I will ensure that we will establish a large customer base on our sales. We will develop the most super machines to beat the competitors in the market and ensure that they are of high quality. This will earn the company a good image in the market world. After three years of operation, I will ensure that we open two more branches in the southern and northern states. I will make sure that the employees are much productive and offer the right skills to the company. I believe that within a span of the next ten years, we will be operating in France, Germany, South Africa, Italy, and Denmark.
