Journaling is a strategy that I have used at different points in my life. I have used journaling ideas to foster my creativity, maintain my sanity, and even overcome tough life challenges. The 14-day writing cycle of the Personal Development Journal was amazing. I learned how to be open-minded.
In my composition process from completing the PDJ, I learned that more topic ideas came into my mind while I was reflecting and brainstorming. The topics that came to mind that surprised me and I would love to develop in my writing assignments are; bullying in schools, sleep deprivation, and domestic violence. The library research I might do based on bullying in schools is what measures institutions can take to prevent bullying and the effects of bullying on academics. For sleep deprivation, I would do library research on its impact on the human body, and for domestic violence, I would research on the types, and effects of domestic violence. What specifically came up during my writing is the procrastination issue. Like most students, I am a procrastinator, and I would like to be guided on how I can develop a paper topic to help others. When writing the PDJ, I remembered how I was bullied in school. My personal bullying experience can be turned into a position paper arguing against bullying in schools. The kind of informative report that I could write is the effects of sleep deprivation on the human body. The kind of persuasive essay that I could write based on the ideas that came while writing the PDJ is why death penalty should be abolished.
