What Happened After My 13-Year-Old Son Joined the Alt-Right

This story of a 13-year-old boy is characterized by what is thought to support the current president of united state Donald Trump in the assertion of opposition to immigration and multiculturism. The mother’s boy, by that time, believed in what was right, and she faced a series of circumstances as time went on. This essay will, therefore, summarize the article of “What Happened After My 13-Year-Old Son Joined the Alt-Right.”

Events at school

Sam is the author of this article, and he was a regular boy who attended a public high school. Sam joined a group, and most of his friends were associated with gay things. One of the jokes by his friends made Sam laughed, and a nearby girl misunderstood the conversation and hence reported the matter to teachers as a sexual harassment conversation. As a result, Sam did not attend the next class since he was forced out of the classroom by his instructor (Mukhtar). Then Sam was forced to write a statement by an officer who stationed at the school. After Sam wrote the statement, he was detained for 8 hours, and his mother, after Sam went home, decided to protest against the school.

Sam’s school did not entertain protests either from parents or students in case of any complaint from girls. The manager of the school said that Sam’s behavior was illegal and declared that as the person in charge of the school and as a father of a girl child, the most important duty is to care and protect the girl child (Mukhtar). Then Sam decided to write an apology letter addressed to the girl, but the girl seemed to be shocked and disappointed with the way adults behaved.

Alternative right-wing

Because of the disappointments that happen at the school, Sam’s parents decided to transfer him to a private school. However, Sam seemed to be disappointed with everybody in his former school and that he assumed that he would not be able to survive at his new school. Sam strongly believed that every woman is a lie, and the Islamic region is violent. Eventually, Sam becomes an addict of right-winged (Mukhtar). Then Sam started to listen to claims such as women or mothers who aborted should be regarded to have committed a sin, despite the fact that such claims were contrary to his knowledge.

Incentives to alternative right-wing

Sam’s parents raised him to be a child with great observations and sympathy. Sam was considered to be friendly to his friends and teachers. Because of friendly nature, he used to get more information from the internet to strengthen his ideas on the right-wing, and with time he started quoting his mother as well. Sam believed in the movement of suing divorced mothers who had no intention of allowing her children to meet their fathers since such things will bring justice not only to fathers but also to the world (Mukhtar). This represents clearly the incident went through in his previous school when a girl child was trusted, and his argument dismissed. Sam’s mother then never imagined that men could be obsessed with their supremacy, and week men need protection.

Turning point

Sam changed his ideas after the campaign of Donald Trump, and he was accompanied by his mother. During the campaign, Sam asked various questions to the participants (Mukhtar). In the end, he was disappointed because all their answers were controversial to what he believed in.

Escape to another wing

After a few months, Sam started communicating with his friends from school and stopped massaging strange people from the internet. With time his grades improved and started to communicate more with family members (Mukhtar).

Sam went a step ahead and joined clubs where he felt comfortable with.
