What Society Promotes Democracy?

Introduction

Every society operates on the principle of democracy observes some critical strategies aimed at achieving the same. Democracy is a government where the citizens have the mandate to choose their leaders through an election. The selected individuals exercise authority on behalf of the citizens through legislation. The most developed countries operate on the principle of separation of powers. Each arm of the Government has separate roles to another. Keeps checks and balances on the other to safeguard the interests of the citizens.

Why the Large Commercial Republic is the Choice

Most developed countries across the globe have embraced principle demonocracy as compared to small countries. The American Constitution has been a subject of amendments on several aspects; despite the changes, it is not enough to confidently state that it achieved its purpose. They believe that the majority carries the day is the reason as to why the cry of Citizens; the rivalry between political parties ignores the excellent public overrides the rule of natural justice and the rights of minority parties.

Though Americans are in denial that such vices do not occur, it is regrettable that the contrary is true. The violations of human rights, and not upholding to public engagements are but the key characteristics of injustice and unsteadiness in which factious spirit has tainted public administration. No matter the faction one belongs to, human rights and the rights of a community are essential.

How is Sound Democracy Achieved?

The mere essence of building a democratic process is not a one-day affair; it is a gradual process that involves the masses who take pride in a more open and inclusive society. The two most common methods of attaining democracy are eliminating its causes, and the latter is by controlling its effects on the broader population.

How to Eliminate the Traces of Factions?

Similarly, ways of eliminating factions are, by getting rid of its liberty, that is essential for its wellbeing. In contrast, the latter is through availing the same opinion, passion, and interests to every citizen. However, the above is not achievable due to the diversification of humanity. Embracing such vices is the main objective of every Governance system that comes into existence. They strive in division and categorization of humankind based on degrees and kinds of properties with the sole purpose of creating divisions of the people in different social clusters.

What defines factions?

The nature of man is the primary source of factions. The need for different views, about religion, and mode of governance, attachment to a particular leader, and subscription to a specific belief is the genesis of factions. As a result, hatred among the masses pops in; thus, it does not work for the common good. Consequently, it has necessitated the need for legislation that can regulate how the interests of each party can be protected.

Though the causes mentioned above are hard to eliminate, it is worth noting that, at least to some extent, its effects can be curable. When a government comprises of bi-partisan leadership, the constitution of the country is the only weapon to use against them.

How Amendments to the Constitution Attained Liberty Protection

The American constitution structures that Rights and liberty only applied to a particular population. The same applied only to the white majority and, on the other hand, segregated against the blacks and other minority communities within the United States of America. The same necessitated the uprising movement lead by the like-minded, faithful institution under the leadership of Martin Luther King. Through the struggle, the common goal saw the light of the day in 1870, and the minor communities were allowed to exercise their constitutional rights in the election through one man one vote system. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that despite the same, women were not allowed to take part in the same, not until the early 1940s. Through the above amendments, the general public has an opportunity to participate in the general decision making of the country.

Comparison Between Large and Small Democracy

No matter how large a republic is, representatives of the people should attain a certain degree to obtain tranquility and order. The majority of the population chooses the representatives in the high Government; hence it is difficult for a vicious art that characterizes elections to occur, and it will open an avenue where someone who is elected is a person of character and possess the most attractive merit.

Increasing the number of voters leaves representatives low acquittance to their subject in terms of service delivery. Slashing the amount will subject him/her minimum space to advocate on crucial national issues.

More representatives are in a government, and from different political parties, the harder it is for factions to take advantage of its citizens. When the representative has one basic plan, it will be difficult for them to plot their selfish strategy, but work as a team. Where there is disagreement on specific legislation, the other opposition member shall voice it out.

With the establishment of a large commercial republic, it is an impossibility for one leader to impact his factious belief in other parts of the country. A religion might uprise into a  movement in one area of the country, but it will be nearly impossible to sell the whole idea in other areas of the country. Unlike in small commercial republic, faction mentality spreads quickly.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, democracy is a gradual process that is born and embraced by individuals whose idea has come of age. The journey is not comfortable; people lose lives, get injuries, and some of the co-pioneers never enjoy the fruits of the struggle. However, the zeal of inclusive society, where people are born free and charged by the content of their brain, is the driving force for a better and democratic society.
