Take a side: What’s better? Traditional classroom education or Online education? I choose Online
You chose to take English 1302 Online this semester, but due to this historical national shut down, college students all across the country found themselves suddenly thrust into an online learning environment that they may not have been prepared for.
The obvious HUGE advantage to online education is that despite the pandemic and lock down, many students were able to complete the semester.
Which form of education is best?
There are definitely advantages and disadvantages to each, but which do you think is best? Should America move away from traditional classrooms and switch entirely online, or is online education only good for a certain population of students?
DIRECTIONS:
- Using the sources I gave you write a ROUGH draft arguing for the side you choose: traditional or online education.
- You only have a few days for this first draft. Remember, drafts do not have to be finished products. They are a quick slop of your ideas onto the page to start to get a feeling for what you know and how you feel.
- The final paper SHOULD look VERY different from the first draft.
- I have done the preliminary research for you and linked a bibliography to those sources for you to use.
- You have read the five articles I’ve found about traditional and online education. In addition to those resources, you can use your own experiences in online learning, and the experiences of your classmates.
- Feel free to interview each other, but do not do additional research to support your side of this issue. (You will have a chance to find additional sources in the next assignment.)
