Why electrical engineering?
Have you ever wondered as a child how a remote-controlled toy works? Perhaps not! But I have. People used to say that I was curious and my mother would complain about my taking apart of each new toy that runs on electronics.
Here I am 21 years of age, the would-be youngest graduate from college. I specialize in that branch of electrical engineering that is connected with light. Illumination engineering is the subject I am planning to choose as my major. My hands don’t shake when I join minute parts of an item to a minute part of a motherboard. Presently I am working on my thesis, which says with conviction that led light is the future.
My work takes me to those parts of the town where not even a dog walks at 1 am. The local police chief knows me well by this time. I try to carry on with my experiments with the streetlights, one post at a time to know the core of the subject better.
From my secondary school days, I had a keen interest in Physics and Mathematics, and this is one of the major reasons that helped me to decide on electrical engineering for my higher studies. After completing my graduation, I moved to study further at a foreign university.
After the upcoming autumn semester, I plan to visit some of the slum areas. I always wanted to do something constructive for them as there is a shortage of electricity. Due to this, the kids have given up hope of finishing homework in the evenings and many have stopped going to school. Talks with local civic authority have proved futile. The police do little about the growing number of crime in the city. Considering the poor condition of the people at the slums, I, along with my fellow mates at college decided to offer some source of electricity by installing solar panel. I decided for a rooftop panel that can offer uninterrupted power supply.
I plan to set up an advanced light-sensing panel on the bigger of the rooftops in the area. This way, I am trying to shed some light onto the darkness until, hopefully, the higher authorities get convinced to adopt Led as the proper source of light.
Since my childhood days, I dream big, I am curious. This is the root from which I started to grow my analytical skills.
