Why Fiction is Good
In the past century, many individuals thought that literature could change the world and make people improve. The modern people might be unsure, but can fiction be useful to the people? Research shows that reading fiction has beneficial impacts, which include potentialities for the selfhood transformation. Fiction is a kind of social world stimulation. The first stimulations formed to run on minds thousands of years ago were fiction before computers’ invention.
Authors like Keith Oatley, in their fiction, they include three critical elements in their description; to assist the reader better form a vivid mental image (Oatley, 2011). The author makes sure no detail is forgettable and uninteresting. Oatley argues that a poem, movie, novel, play, or story forms a mental model in which readers try out ideas about others and themselves. The fiction subject matter is what individuals are up to with each other and themselves, the meaning of being self, and the interaction with others in the social world.
The flight simulator permits the pilot-in-training to safely and quickly encounter all types of eventualities that might occur in the air; thus, fiction allows people to experience emotions in a safe place, enlightening them to understand themselves and others. When someone reads fiction, they gain a thorough understanding; but a partial understanding. However, when they discuss it, they increase brainpower and get it from different perspectives.
A better fiction writer to more powerful the stimulation. Some people can read fiction better, but it is going on a roller coaster. Engineers have constructed it, so the readers have specific experiences. They get off, their heart is beating a bit, but they are still the same individual.
