Why might contemporary scholars see this teaching as having been beneficial for women?

Most contemporary scholars consider the teaching of Jesus on marriage and divorce a crucial aspect that benefits women in several situations. In this case, women have the chance to know the legal issue for a man to divorce his wife for any reason (V.3). The attaining of such knowledge benefits women. The divorce can also solve misunderstandings in marriages. However, this teaching provided women with the ethical consequences behind divorce for other forms of intimacy. Karen King is a scholar who examines the importance of women in the place of early Christianity. She draws on examples of Mary Magdalene (King, 2004). Jesus’ teaching portrayed support to the fact that God created a woman to help the man. Therefore the woman is to leave his father and mother, and they will join and become one (V.5). Women need to identify related caused by marriage.  Therefore, most researchers analyses this book as an essential aspect to women who endure the suffering of divorce in marriages.

Some argue that the teaching on divorce is meant to be compassionate, about social justice. Are there ways in which even in the 21st century, divorce might connect to social justice concerns?

In the current world, divorce has become a social justice issue and a significant concern. Mostly, the cause of this issue was to provide justice to women living in poverty in various parts of the world. Many women survive in violent marriages and, after divorce, are left impoverished and with nothing. Therefore divorce being a contemporary issue of social justice has supported such women in society. The law can cancel the divorce or self-sufficiency of every individual. The support of separation by the law provides a difference for long term stability of a family or poverty of a family. Once the divorce has been of conflict, women can get lawyers who assert their rights for protection, ownership, and succession of the children.
