Would you recommend Stranger Than Fiction film to a friend
Yes, I would recommend the movie to a friend. Stranger Than Fiction is a wonderful romantic comedy film. The movie is directed by Marc Forster, and it stars Will Ferrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Dustin Hoffman. I have always been a big fan of Will Ferrell, and his presence in the film made it a little better. Will Ferrell stars as Harold Crick in this movie. Marc Forster who is the director and Zach Helm who is the screenwriter of this incredible film both manage to bring out incredible affection from their cast and this makes this movie to become complete and exciting.
Will Ferrell is an IRS agent, and his daily life is dominated by numbers and not human interactions. For the twelve years, he has been in solitude; every day has just been the same. One mysterious Wednesday however; Harold starts to hear a voice. In the beginning, he does not realize the voice. This is not a voice of fate or a God but is the Voice of Kay Eiffel who is an author. Kay Eiffel narrates the experiences of Will Ferrell. Initially, he thinks that his tie or toothbrush is talking to him, but he comes to figure out that he is the main character is someone’s book. To him, the voice of the narrator of the book (Kay Eiffel) is a nuisance until she mentions something about him dying soon. For sure this revelation is alarming, and Will just like any other human does not want to die and hopes to live a little bit longer. In his pursuit to live a little bit longer, Harold approaches Professor Jules Hilbert who is a literature expert. The professor attempts to decipher if the story of Harold is a comedy or a tragedy. He even tries to unravel who the author of the novel might be.
Will Ferrell’s job takes him to the bakery where he meets Maggie Gyllenhaal (Ana Pascal), a baker. Maggie Gyllenhaal explains to will why she does not pay her taxes, insults him and then does anything possible to make the job of will impossible. Will finds her to be attractive and he responds by staring at her chest and then stumbling over his words and ends up generally making a fool out of himself. I have seen Ferrell act stupidly many times, but this is a masterpiece. At the same time, the Voice of the narrator of the novel keeps making observations which Will is not comfortable with. At the long run, Ana takes pity on him and ends up baking him some cookies. This genuine act opens up a great, beautiful relationship just like in many movies. Meeting Maggie Gyllenhaal gives will something to live for, and he discovers that it is imperative to keep chasing the invisible voice that was in his head.
I was thrilled by how the flow of the film is excellent and I am sure anyone could also notice this. Will Ferrell manages to pull a smooth and unarguably good performance for his role. His character compliments the loose ferocity of his new lover. The two have incredible chemistry which is only seen in hit films in the film industry. I tried very hard not to smile when Harold during the date brought a box of “flours.” The film is also educational, and it can help people stuck in life to find a new perspective and live better lives. Harold realizes the value of giving up the perception of control in his life and enters in relationships with other people. He is urged to live the life he has always wanted rather than settling for existence. Harold upon realizing this, also motivates his friend to do the same with his life. When Kay finally realizes that the characters she had been killing in her novel might be real, she gets deeply hurt by what she might have done to them. Fiction is good, but murder by a typewriter is something that she cannot handle. Her reaction when she learns this clearly shows how important and valuable the life of every human being is.
The movie has many levels; in some way, it is a drama which has light moments, and it is also a tragedy which at the same time is a comedy. After watching the movie, I can conclude that Stranger than Fiction is exceedingly done to perfection with very little detail left out by the film. It is excellent, captivating movies that do not at any point run off tangents or miss on taking advantage of great opportunities. The movie features strong work from both the supporting and the main characters, and also the manager stop incorporates both poignancy and humor. As much as I expected the movie to be funny, I did not expect it to be touching as it was. I would strongly recommend anyone to watch this movie.
