The commission has certified and accredited more than 22,000 healthcare organizations in the United States (The Joint Commission, n.d). JC addresses performance standards related to hospital operations such as patient care, consumer rights, infection control, and medication safety. All members are required to comply with the JC healthcare standards for them to be eligible for accreditation.  The main objective of the commission is to guarantee that medical organizations are capable of delivering quality healthcare services (The Joint Commission, n.d). For instance, the commission subject medical labs to a survey every two years. JC’s performance metrics ensure all healthcare facilities possess the necessary facilities to ensure customer satisfaction.

Equally, the hospital ownership needs to appreciate the effort of all departments, such as the finance department, that are involved in managing risks in the organization. The hospital ownership and the management provide support and resources aimed at compensating employees through rewards and allowances. Notably, rewarding employee performance ensures that workers are motivated to deliver the desired services.

The risk management will also ensure the hospital set terms and conditions as well as ethical code to ensure employees embrace risk mitigation initiatives.

Healthcare workers are legally liable for ensuring patients receive the right medication to improve their health status. Care professionals, such as nurses, must monitor patient conditions and keeping appropriate medical records that keep track of the progress of individuals under their care (Kadivar et al., 2017). Nurses are required by law to ensure patients are safe. Healthcare organizations are obliged to ensure safety is guaranteed across all departments. Patients in hospitals need to be protected from infections by contagious diseases from other patients. Following ethical standards, medical personnel should perform a close evaluation of all patients for possible infectious diseases. Healthcare workers are required to maintain the confidentiality and privacy of patient information. They should also offer emotional support to affected individuals, offer guidelines on how to control the spread of infectious, or avoid contamination. Employees are required to embrace risk management to ensure they offer quality healthcare, control diseases, and treat all patients equally (Kadivar et al., 2017). Malpractices should be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate action must be taken against personnel who break the rules and regulations governing their practice.

Compliance with JC standards, ethical standards, monitoring, and evaluation programs and educational programs ensure the hospital maintains a high level of excellence. The adoption of advanced technology has played an important role in guaranteeing employee safety and enhancing quality care. Technology has enabled the hospital to monitor patients effectively, keep records, track progress, and maintain safety, thus improving the quality of healthcare. The organization culture in the hospital has played an essential role in creating a positive mood and a conducive work environment as well as motivating employees to adopt new changes (Cantiello, 2016). It has helped the organization handle challenges associated with change, such as resistance to change, smooth transition, and adoption of new changes. Training programs have played an essential role in ensuring employees are ready to adopt change aimed at improving patient safety and quality of care. Compliance with all regulations and standards set by JC and other health regulatory bodies ensure quality improvement.
