10 worse effects of GLOBALIZATION
EFFECTS OF GLOBALIZATION
Introduction
In the recent past, there has been a stable growth of social system sizes and complexity increment of intersocietal links across the globe. This global change that connects the past, the present, and the future is globalization (Коротаев, 2013). Globalization also means the integration of economic, political, and cultural systems with different impacts on the world, such as increased migration, employment opportunities, and loss of cultural values (Sheffield and Korotaev, 2013). This paper will explain the effects of globalization, which are not limited to; increased employment, migration, and loss of cultural values.
Employment
According to Коротаев (2013), employment has today moved across borders as people do business without physical meeting and even move freely across some borders because of common interests. Коротаев (2013) also argued that with globalization, an appointing authority in a particular country could employ residents of a different country to work for a firm which has found its roots in that country due to globalization.
Loss of cultural values
Culture as a way of living has become more vulnerable than ever in the recent past. Most people today lose their native culture to adopt other cultural practices that come along with globalization. African continent has adversely been affected by this trend as they try to cope with the western culture, which is not only expensive to them but also irrelevant to their constitutional requirement (Sapkota, 2011).
Conclusion
Globalization affects the world in different ways at different levels. From this paper, governments are advised to take keen precautions and develop insightful strategies when addressing globalization. This is to avoid natives’ employment turnover and, most importantly, to save natives’ values.
