Part 1: Globalization
America started experiencing the transformation of globalization in the years the 1990s. During that moment’s globalization meant to describe political, military, cultural, and technological growth and developments that brought people together. After the cold war, that is the fall of the soviet; globalization spread to other parts of the country as people could migrate and form economic and technological alliances. The communication process became more efficient due to the development of telephones, satellites, and the internet. The internet created a chance for people to explore websites and links for business and other technological matters.
The improvement of the communication process created a massive impact on the Americans and the rest of the world. Businesses were connected beyond the borders creating multinational corporations and non-governmental organizations. The movements of capital, goods, and services conducted across the borders hence the expansion of the trade industry. Also, the treaties that created along the edges allowed people to migrate anywhere to do business.
Globalization also had some negative impacts on some countries. For instance, in America, they experienced a high level of immigration. Most Mexicans settled in California and Texas. They lowered the wage rate of employment as they could take any job at a lower price. It was a disadvantage to natives who pay taxes to provided quality services. The immigrants also evaded taxes that occurred to be a burden to the natives.
It also created political problems in America. Even though all political parties supported globalization, they mostly differed on government expenditure and taxes. The conservatives, democrats, and republicans had ideological differences in terms of policy implementation. Some of the political reigns involved themselves in scandals or ideas that marked their end in political fields.
Globalization also served as the epicenter of cultural wars. The social diversity experienced among Americans to the extent of expanding them to disadvantaged groups. The blacks in America benefited most on political and economic measures. The family values, to an area affected by globalization as the level of divorce and single parenthood increased. Women actively participated in politics and the workforce. The other rights also initiated, such as sexuality rights and identity.
Part 2: Cultural Wars
According to Rhykhan (2014), there are diverse and massive effects of globalization on the culture. The cultural behaviors of individuals impacted in various forms to the point of changing their lifestyle. In America, issues to do with the rights of an individual, and the values of social life became an area of concern. In the 1990s, the rights and race sourced divisive measures among black and white Americans. The cultural wars experienced matters to do with families, women, and sexual values. The discussion tackles the effects of globalization on the cultural lives of individuals.
The cultural wars were intense on race, and blacks in America were victims of segregation and discrimination. The social and cultural rights imposed measures that were unequal between whites and blacks. In some scenarios, blacks brutalized by white people. It created slight pressure on the federal government, which initiated the right to equality and justice to racial victims. Family values also impacted by global change. People realized their power in social life where the rate of divorce increased at a higher price. Also, the rate of single parents, respectively, as many walked out of their marriages. Most of the parents embraced a notion of fewer children that that is manageable.
The culture of the state considered apart from that of families. The philosophical and artistic cultural practices of America started to fade away; therefore, it served protections. It is because; it only helped a reflection that is powerful about Americans. For instance, sexual, feminism, and African American rights demanded to preserved for the well-being of the American community.
Despite women faced discrimination, they stood up firmly to their rights. They fought for equal recruitments for the workforce and political participation. They also competed in courts to have a reason for abortion, and the Supreme Court approved it. The abortion conducted in circumstances that are understandable (health issues). The most controversial cultural wars originated from people’s rights towards sexuality. They fought for their legal protection.
The concept of globalization had a significant impact on the economic, political, and social life of people in the world. The technological and economic development experienced across the globe. For instance, the political differences and social impacts experienced in America and other parts of the world had both advantages and disadvantages for people.
