The coronavirus pandemic has created a new wave of measures regarding health care options available. These measures have resulted in the distancing of persons as well as reduced hospital visits. Therefore concerning the formulation of an app to cater to diagnosis and to triage, the idea would come in handy to minimize hospital check-ins reducing the risk of cross-contamination. In the effort to formulate an application that caters to diagnosis and triaging, it would be imperative to simulate the interface and structure of the symptom checker embedded in the symptom checker in Ask Sophie. The interface provides options for the patient to fill in and give responses regarding their state of wellness.
In addition to these features, the website includes trackers that would also be incorporated in the application aiding in response teams in the identification and isolation of potentially infected individuals. These attributes would overall assist in disease response and surveillance, curtailing the dissemination of future pandemics. In regards to triaging, I believe that GYANT, a leading technological platform that engages patients in the effort to triage and attend to patient needs, will provide a good platform. The tool embeds the Gyant front door that purposes to integrate patient records and portals in addition to analysis of the severity of the condition (Gyant, 2020). The feature reduces hassles involved in the paperwork needed before access to medical services. Following this development, the platform provides the right framework for the development of the application that would purpose to triage patients in other pandemics.
