The story of Coronavirus
The world is currently at the threat of a deadly disease caused by the Coronavirus. Covid-19 is what the deadliest disease is commonly referred to. The first case of the disease was reported in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. At first, the disease was thought to have no serious impacts to the people. As time went on, China declared the disease as a threat and called for the support from the respective bodies. In the early 2020, the disease started spreading to the other countries all over the world (“Coronavirus (COVID-19) Research.”, 1). So far, 80% of the countries all over the world have reported one or more cases of Coronavirus. The scientists are trying their best to come up with the vaccine, but so far, there is a vaccine that has been proved to be effective.
Covid-19 is a respiratory disease that is caused by the Coronavirus. The disease is spread through the fluids coming from the mouth when we cough or sneeze. The disease spread fast, especially to the places where people are congested. When you come into contact with the fluid and touch your mouth eyes or the nose, there are high chances of getting infected by the disease. On reaching the lungs, the virus affects everything and causes abnormality in the respiratory system. The primary symptoms of the covid-19 disease include the difficulties in breathing, fever, headache, and dry coughs. Since there is no specific treatment of the disease, people have been advised to take preventive measures. Some of the preventive measures which are highly recommendable include washing your hands, using the mouth masks, keeping the social distance, and staying at home if necessary.
The disease has lately been declared the pandemic and the national disaster. Various health control organization, like the W.H.O., has taken it as their responsibility to ensure that all the countries contain the disease. Governments from different countries have also been advised to take their local measures to ensure that the disease is contained. So far, the cases of the positive Covid-19 stands at 1.9 million, whereby 110,000 people have died while 450,000 have recovered from the disease. In addition to that, 1.3 million of the active cases are in mild condition, while 51,000 are in critical condition. The United States of America is leading in the total number of cases, which stands at 587,183 with the total deaths of 23,644 (“Global Research on Coronavirus Disease COVID-19.”, 1). The other countries where the diseases seem to have a high impact include Spain, Italy, France, German, United Kingdom, China, and Iran.
Since the disease was declared a national disaster, many things have changed in various backgrounds. The transport systems have changed their normal ways of operation; many hotels closed, sports activities have stopped, education has turned to online, and foreign traveling has also been prohibited in some countries. The alteration of all those activities have generally said to have affected both the country’s and the world’s economy. The disease has seen many economic activities stop, especially where it seems to have the probabilities of massive gatherings. Many hotels have been closed, the public vehicles are carrying fewer passengers than the normal, and the worst of it is the lockdown. The concerned bodies are claiming that it is only how this deadly disease can be contained.
Today, even the children understand the terminologies such as the self-quarantine, self-isolation, and lockdowns. The terminologies have been termed as the only measures so far, which can help in fighting the disease. The self-isolation has seen many higher learning institutions switching their studies online. In this case, I am one of the victims of self-isolation. Since the disease was declared a disaster and ordered to learn from our homes, I have been staying most of the time indoors. For that period, I have a story to tell on how it has been.
I am a very patriotic citizen who will ensure that I follow any order given by the authorities all to make sure I take care of my health and that of my friends. After the government advised us that we should stay in our homes, I did as they said. U went to the shopping centers and purchased all that I could need for the next month. Since then, I have been locking myself in my room with my computer and very strong internet connections. The life here is not as easy as I thought. Sometimes you miss your friends, but you can’t see them, other times you miss jogging but you can’t, you miss watching football, but you remember all the sports activities stopped, and then you remember how in-class learning was very interesting. Most of the time, I watch movies after online lessons, and it is like I am getting bored with them. My experience here is a living hell. I can neither get nor do what I want because that is what the authorities demand me to.
Even though I am personally getting bored with the life behind the closed doors, I can say that the rate of the spread of disease is reducing. As has been stated, social distancing is one of the key things that people should think about, and it is like all people have adapted to the order. The risk of people being infected is going down, and with that pace, the activities will soon resume as normal. During the self-isolation period, I have also noticed that people can easily follow orders when it comes to a matter of life and death. The citizens have shown the maximum responsibility that if maintained, the world would be far. I have also noticed that having friends near you is a very important thing. For me, I am already missing everything in school. In-class learning is also far much better than in online classes. I miss my old-time, and I hope this disease ends in a few days and have my best time again.
Finally, I want to take this opportunity to let people understand that Covid-19 is a very deadly disease. It is the responsibility of the people to observe the orders given by the authorities, and the disease will have to end soon. I was observing the basic things such as washing your hands, using sanitizers, wearing the mouth masks, keeping the social distance, and staying at home if possible will help the world conquer the disaster. It is, therefore, advisable to bear with the situation right now for the better of the coming days.
