Cognitive possesses examination

The memory is considered as a cognitive function which allows individuals to code, store and recover various information from the past. Due to this process, the memory id considered to be able to store data for both short and long term. Such aspects are enabled through various training activities which allow it to be able to remember the information stored in it. Due to this reason, the brain is considered useful for learning due to its ability to store information. In the study “Short-Term Memory Improvement after Simultaneous Interpretation Training” by Babcock and other scholars research about the level of improvement that the memory has after training a simultaneous interpretation.

The main aim of this study is to examine whether the undertaking of simultaneous interpretations which are considered as inherent abilities are responsible for the enhancement of cognition among the professional transcribers. Also, the study was aimed at examining whether repetitive actions would enhance the strength of the brain to remember in the short term.  This aspect therefore was a good measure of the factors which increase the development of a strong memory to understand and remember the different activities undertaken by student translators in the short run.

Through the study, it was discovered that interpretational students showed an increase in memory gain through the various tests they undertook. It was also found that the aspect of memory in simultaneous interpreters gain was not as due to the inherent differences associated with the way the interpreters conducted the various simultaneous interpretations. It was also discovered that some particular abilities in individuals were enhanced through training where the individuals who have trained in a specific aspect can remember the various activities undertaken in a given task as compared to those who are not trained. Through the study, it was evident that the training of SI enhanced the short terms of memories of the language interpreters in a short time.

The main of the limitation of the study was the lack of a specific item to measure the things that the memory can store in the short run. Therefore this aspect was measured in terms of the various tests undertaken which would have provided bias information. The analyses conducted are just standard tests which are not standardized in the aspect of measuring memory capacity. This situation means that since some issues required physical examination such as the shapes and colours, some individuals might have taken the process lightly leading to the differing of the results. Since the participants undertook different courses in the various universities, this means that they had different memory capacities which would have influenced the results of the tests.

The results of the study can be applied in the learning process to enhance the learning capacity of the students. In this case, the process can be sued by students to train and improve their memories in their learning process. Continuous training was considered as a significant aspect in the enhancement of the performance of the students. This aspect means that constant practice is a unique aspect of memory development as it enables one to understand the various processes required to undertake a given task. Due to this reason, the element of training is considered to play a significant role in the reduction of errors while taking a given job. In this case, the process was right in the examination of the various aspects of memory such as the particular short term memory; verbal working memory and sustained control play a significant role in the learning process.
