HR planning and management of employees
Introduction
HR planning and management of employees is essential to every organization since it ensures that all processes move smoothly and according to the organization’s wants. HR in an organization sets requirements that need to be fulfilled, and they are responsible for carrying out the compensation of the activities carried out. In the scenario, the organization lacks an agreement with the HR to gap the indifferences between the employees and the Hotel. Empyrean is the largest Hotel in the city and sets an example to other hotels. In addition to that, the organization hosts a lot of guests compared to other Hotels since it has all the resources required.
HR should, therefore, come up with a plan that ensures that the employees are compensated and motivated to work since the economy is stable. According to the scenario at the Hotel, employees are not well paid, and they seem to be working more hours than expected. Offering the employees, a good union rather than a good deal that involves better compensation, especially an increase in pay rise by 3%, daycare benefits, and flexible scheduling will increase productivity in the organization. According to Foster (2018), employees are motivated when given the resources they require.
Pay Rise
Empyrean hotel does not compensate the employees the salaries that they deserve. According to the scenario, the pay that the employees receive is low since we set when the economy is in bad shape. Employees were forced to operate at the current salary, and hence they anticipate an increase in pay since the economy has stabilized. A major hotel in the city sets an example in every aspect of activities it undertakes, so the decisions that the Hotel makes are vital.
An increase in salary to the employees come with a great significance to the Hotel (Prieto, Mathur-Helm & Dawson, 2018). The organization will have a staff that is focused on achieving its goals alongside the purposes of the organization, and hence productivity will increase significantly. An increase in salary has been mentioned as one of the significant factors that affect productivity in the working environment. Therefore, by strengthening the organization’s payment, it will encourage most of the individual to positively contribute to the success of the Hotel. Secondly, the decision to set a proper compensation in the organization will mean that other companies will have to do the same. In the long run, the prices of goods and services in the Hotel will increase to cater to the needs of employees. The organization will receive more capital, and hence it will gain more profit.
Flexible scheduling
A flexible schedule is essential in an organization and plays a vital role in ensuring that the organization has active staff all the time (Prieto, Mathur-Helm & Dawson, 2018). Flexible schedule employees to work at their best convenient time than the standard company hours. It has been productive when employed at the Hotel. Employees tend to be productive when they are allowed to control their time; they feel trusted at the company and hence give their best (Ulrich & Brockbank, 2016). The employees are happy, and thus they work to their best to achieve the goals set out.
Flexible scheduling ensures that employees work without stress. Stress is one of the significant factors that cause complaints in the working environment (Ulrich & Brockbank, 2016). When employees are giving some hours to work and other hours to do their activities, it creates an environment for better management of their life demands. When employees are stressed, they are unable to work at their best (Foster, 2018). The organization should encourage flexible working in the organization.
In addition to the above advantages of flexible scheduling, flexible scheduling is noted to save money in an organization (Prieto, Mathur-Helm & Dawson, 2018). Employees that are not needed in the Hotel are allowed not to come to work since they do not have anything that they are coming to do. They end up saving a lot of costs and resources in the organization. Through encouraging flexible scheduling, the organization will save some costs needed in production and employees occupying the organization all the time (Ulrich & Brockbank, 2016).
Employees that work in a flexible schedule are happy and ready to take challenges. These employees can get enough sleep and focus on their work duties during the day. According to Ulrich & Brockbank (2016), through flexible policies, employees can reduce their psychological distress. Conflicts at their workplace and even emotional exhaustion. An organization having employees are mentally and physically healthy; they tend to be focused and produce excellent work.
Lastly, flexible scheduling in the Hotel encourages trust among the employer and the employees. An organization that has trusted its employees and dedicated all the resources is said to be very productive since the workers are focused and happy to carry out their duties (Foster, 2018). Many working environments strive to be a place of trust and mutual respect. By using flexible policies, the Hotel which achieves the confidence of employees and ensures that there is respect in the organization not only between the workers and the organization but all the workers and the customers that frequently come to the Hotel. The Hotel will achieve a lot of benefits when it encourages a flexible schedule policy.
Daycare Benefits
Organizations that have practised daycare have been successful since it has created morale in the organization. Daycare in an organization has played a vital role in improving the confidence, lowering turnover, and attracting a wider variety of applicants to the organization (Ulrich & Brockbank, 2016). Organizations have been able to reduce absenteeism and turnover in the organization by encouraging daycare.
Workplace daycare allows employees to spend some of their time with their children. The time that employees are allowed to spend time with their children is lunch hours and in the evening when they can leave for their homes. Workplace daycare is noted to reduce anxiety among the parents and improve the employees’ concentration on their jobs in the organization. Productivity is observed to increase as compared to discouraging daycare. Besides, the morale of employees in the organization is much improved. Employees will reduce absenteeism to attend to their children. In the long run, the organization will be productive.
Conclusion
Many benefits come with daycare benefits, flexible scheduling, and pay increase in an organization. The organization should develop a strategy that encourages pay increase, flexible schedule, and supporting daycare in the organization. Both the three factors are associated with an increase in production and the right working environment.
