Impact of gamification on education
The objective of the present study was to explore the existing literature to examine the impact of gamification on education. The findings from the reviewed sources have shed valuable light on the correlation between the two variables. Significantly, gamification is demonstrated to motivate students in their learning processes. Similarly, the findings from the explored literature implicate the approach with improved learning outcomes among learners. However, some of the scholars recommend for better designs to achieve optimum results. Additionally, gamification enhances student engagement levels during classwork. Furthermore, many teachers have a positive attitude to the use of the approach in offering instruction.
However, the findings in this paper should be conceived in line with a few limitations. Firstly, most of the reviewed studies employed relatively small samples of participants. Secondly, the review is limited to a few pages, thus making it difficult to explore the content in the sources exhaustively. Additionally, the present research into gamification application in education is relatively diverse, with different forms designed for learning objectives. Therefore, future reviews should seek to overcome these limitations to understand better the extent to which gamification impacts educational aspects.
