Antidepressant Critique

Depression has become a big problem among many people in the world; it has led to many problems among people in the world. There are many articles that came up to address the issue,  one of them being Antidepressant associated which addressed the unipolar and bipolar disorders. The article was perfect and gave us some statistics on the treatment of MDD and BPD. The frequency of people diagnosed with MDD was averagely 8.18% of the total cases. The rates of a new diagnosis of patients with BPD among the people with MDD ranged between 3.29%-3.20%.  Many situations of relatively mild mood elevation or character are not considered maniac or mixed states (Teodoro, 2020). The article showed that the ratio of diagnosis is less to mood elevation during the treatment of AD.

However, the article raised many questions as there were many weaknesses and biasness in the article. The statistics which were given had controversy despite the realistic figures. Some were ineffective and didn’t add up. As reported in the article, the rates of AD-associated mood switches and the diagnosis change on BPD are both vulnerable to ascertainment and mainly based on individuals’ perception (Healy, 2019). The difference in the rates of AD and mood-switching had only average maximum exposures. Moreover, there was inadequate data on the putative predictive association between mood switches and the treatment and medication of BPD. There was also uncertainty in the diagnosis of BPD and directly contributed to pharmacological effects.

The article relates to the content of the textbooks and all the guidelines. The research gives a proper understanding of abnormal psychology and all the models of abnormality and mental problems. The article explained the diagnosis and depressive disorders and bipolar disorders. There were also outcomes of these problems like suicide, which has been witnessed by many people. The people who experience bipolar problems were likely to commit suicide according to the study and also faced eating disorders (Teodoro, 2020). The mind problem affected each individual leading to many disorders that have been highly pronounced among many people. The unipolar and bipolar depression caused cognitive problems and psychosis problems, which has interfered with the mental stability of the individual.

The article has played a massive role in enlightening the society at large and the psychology field on some critical issues which required thorough research. The article has produced enough data and statistics on the proper diagnosis of BPD and the treatment of people with less severe disturbances (Teodoro, 2020). There is also the methodology of preventing disorders and promoting mental health. The article gave relevant information to society on how to handle the BPD. The community got to know about the different psychological disorders and the required treatment for each case.  The society will be able to know the individual’s role in controlling the mental problems and be on alert for any signs and symptoms.

Bipolar disorder is one of the most dangerous problems facing people around the world;  People who have a bipolar need to seek medical treatment and be treated (Healy, 2019). It’s hard for an individual to ignore the treatment and handle the situation alone. The individuals with this disorder are advised to call 911 for treatment. The people suffering from this disorder should seek treatment, whether they are not in need. However, some people may not know if they are facing this problem, but it’s advisable to ask for treatment (Teodoro, 2020). As to some point, the disorder may cause a person to do some undesired things which may harm them severely.  This necessitates seeking treatment by the person suffering from this disorder.

Depression affects people in the world; however, it comes in two different forms the bipolar and unipolar depression. These disorders have various symptoms and treatment methodologies.  In unipolar, the patient experiences endless sadness and diminished interest in everything. They may feel guilt, have mood swings, and loss of sleep (Healy, 2019). When it comes to bipolar, the patients get high energy and loss the touch of reality. The treatment of the two disorders involves proper medication and frequent psychotherapy. Therapy helps to control cognitive character and calms down the individual’s feelings. Therapy and medication help solely to manage and treat unipolar and bipolar disorders.
