- Introduction
Your primary goal is to research one topic on the list given in appendix A and reading the papers relevant to the topic. This will help in understanding the key ideas of the topic, explore the research issues and writing a report to critically reflect on the selected topic. You may identify the main keywords, defining each, then search for academic papers, compare the concepts using arguments discussed in the papers. Reference [1-3] are three recommended search platforms that index a wide variety of academic research papers. You will need to provide a basic literature review, presented as a table that lists all the academic papers in your bibliography, along with a number of columns to summarize your findings. You will also need to keep a list of references to the academic papers used – in an appropriate tool such as Endnote or Zotero – in an appropriately formatted bibliography.
II.DELIVERABLES
You are to make a report of no more than 1500 words. The emphasis of the report should be on analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of knowledge for the selected topic. Your research report should following the structure given below. (This is not the final structure but a hint of how you report might look like)
- Abstract
- Background of the topic
- Critical evaluation and understanding
- Research gap in the state of the art (from step 3)
- Discussion and future work
- Conclusion and summary
- References.
III. Additional Notes
- The report should have a strong research focus – it should not be a simple storytelling of existing work. • You should attempt to focus on current issues.
- Your report should be written using the IEEE conference template. This document is written in the two columns format. You should follow the same structure.
- Carefully cite and reference all sources. The structure that your research report should follow is also explained in the template.
- Marks will be awarded based on the clarity of concepts, critical reflection on current research and issues identification and quality of writing and proper academic referencing. You should at least provide ten references.
- Your bibliography should be recent, not older than 2010. If using references older then provide justification in an appendix.
- Peer review marking process will follow submissions
- ACADEMIC REFERENCES
- Use academic referencing in either IEEE or Harvard or APA formats. Use only one format throughout the report
- Minimum of 10 academic references or relevant industry white papers
- Search platforms for references.
