Art History Major
I am writing to express my interest in pursuing a major in art history. I believe I am well-suited to pursue this course due to my zeal and desire to solve the various puzzles held by works of art that are insufficiently interpreted. My dream to learn at the Virginia Commonwealth University has been strong, owing to the excellent reputation associated with the university. The university’s culture is built on the desire to impact the community, and that has always been my philosophy. A major in art history offers a perfect chance to impact the community by providing the much-needed explanations to works of art that carry with them vast amounts of history. Moreover, I have been developing a desire to pursue a major in art history for several years, and a chance to pursue my dream at Virginia Commonwealth University will be a dream-come-true.
My greatest motivation towards art history is my love for stories. Art history is a pathway towards the interpretation of stories put down in the form of works of art. The nature of the course has made several individuals overlook its importance for the wrong reasons. For example, people have thought that the course does not have sufficient content to entail an individual’s career. However, people fail to see the gap left in terms of the need for interpretations of art galleries in most of the museums. The works of art need qualified interpreters to identify the patterns of time and thus play an essential role in identifying the different cultures of people around the world. Therefore, my interest in art history major is founded on the need to have an insight into the interpretations needed for art galleries found in the various museums.
My academic background is sincere proof that art history is the right career to pursue. I have been pursuing my interest since my earlier years and eventually chose the highly-ranked Virginia Commonwealth University. Also, I have been eagerly following historic news through the media and the reading of books. I have, however, been left desiring for deeper information, and a major in art history is a perfect solution for my passion. Therefore, the choice of art history is not only made regarding its reputation but also due to my passion in the field of history. The desire to open my eyes as well as those of the communities pushes me into pursuing history and coming up with solutions that have long been missing.
Moreover, pursuing a major at Virginia Commonwealth University has the potential to prepare an all-round individual who is ready to serve the community. The culture of the university allows for diversity and inclusiveness. Also, the university is urban and seemingly introduces an individual to the city of Richmond, which has been my favorite destination. Besides, I have been a great fan of an institution that embraces involvement and pioneering studies, and the Virginia Commonwealth University is my best choice. Therefore, my choice to apply for an art history major in the university has considered all the possible choices, and Virginia Commonwealth University is the best.
