Students, including myself, were in a busy semester in school, and learning had to halt. Some were happy as this meant free time away from an energetic and tedious semester. I had planned a series of activities, many of them leisure-based, the events ranged from spending more time with loved ones. The extent governments would go were not taken seriously by students as some of us thought this was just mainly pneumonia-like fever, which would wither away. Social distancing and curfews came in place, and the mobile human being was reduced to an immobile stay at home man. The transition was smooth since the preliminaries to online learning were readily available. At home, we had a stable internet, internet-connected devices: laptops, computers, and mobile phones. Then came the big shock, an activity that most of us had anticipated to be as easy as A B C started having a heavy toll on us. Lecturers created online classrooms to facilitate the process. Notes were sent in these classrooms, and assignments issued. Tutors all of a sudden became so strict, and adherence to deadlines important. Ideally, the internet proved to be an invaluable resource in this process. The research was easy as most of the activities given were on objective learning,
The extent of the pandemic was unknown to us, especially the youth, because I used to obtain money from my parents for school. This money was enough even to cover my non-essential spending, gradually the money disappeared, and my parents were forced to work from home. Fatigue and boredom were one of the psychological challenges we started facing, competition for the use of online resources became even more evident when online schooling started, my siblings and I would use computers in turn. The better part of it was the constructive use of the resource, a resource we had only devised for pleasure. Covid 19 had physical damage to me, in the sense that an activity loving person was reduced to stay at home with no gym sessions. I had already started my gym classes as I was battling with weight issues. I tried so hard to exercise at home, but this was not possible. I, therefore, started gaining more weight as the only activity apart from scouring over the internet was eating.
Authorities handled the pandemic in the best rational way possible.
My perspective is on a few adjustments to make. Firstly, the lockdowns should not have been in place, as this was against fundamental human rights. Governments should have provided incentives for families and low-income earners. Schools should close as the corona experience itself was a learning process. This time would have been used to stay home.I believe that learning can be both informal and formal, and this period was best if we could have exploited the actual teaching and focus on more deductive learning modalities.
I use the internet for positive and constructive purposes. I watch a lot of medical journals, and this has helped me gain knowledge. I share most of the time with family, and this has reconstructed the bond that was fading away as a result of busy schedules. I video chat with friends all over the globe as we share the experiences of Covid 19 We donate what we can to the less fortunate through charity organizations. One of the habits that I employ is a strong belief in myself to succeed and never doubting my abilities. With no tutors to explain assignments, I read constructively and answer my tasks effectively. I make my submissions on time. During this time, I have developed a sense of proactiveness. Secondly, I look at scenarios with an end perspective. I visualize what I want and work towards the realization of goals and targets. I also choose what is essential and handle it first, my academics being prominent I always prioritize it. Failure has never been in my dictionary, and all I think about is to win and be successful, I perform tasks effortlessly and accurately to cultivate my vision of success. I have also sought to listen first and react later. Learning is indeed about listening, understanding, and answering, this is a method that I also involve rigorously. I believe in cooperation.Every activity that I undertake is carefully synergized. The last aspect that I employ is growth. Both physically and mentally. Working together is helpful as it has induced in me skills that I learn from my work environment, from conversations with siblings to discussions with fellow students.
