Choose Connor & West Wing
Abstract
Choose Connor is a film that explores the frustrations of a 15-year old Owen who got a chance to serve as the youth spokesman for U.S. Senate candidate Lawrence Connor. His troubles came when he is faced with fierce campaign exploitation through T.V. and radio ads, interviews, and posters. His reputation was destroyed in the whole American political landscape. West Wing film tells us the story about presidential advisers who have served the country in two political terms. Their experiences during these terms made them hopeless as they were accused of several scandals, political scuffles, and threats. This because fierce political differences existed in the country during their time.

Frustrations in life make an individual lose hope in life. In Choose Connor, Owen is Owen had landed in a political career that would change his life as a youth (Hollweg 179). Some people decided to soil his name in the entire country. His role was to speak on behalf of the U.S. Senate candidate, Lawrence Connor. The critiques of Connor decided to publish negative information about him through all news outlets channels. From then, Owen’s dream to participate in any country’s role died. Political differences can potentially destroy a citizen’s vision, so the government needs to strive to eliminate political differences. The same is seen in the lives of the U.S. advisers in the film The West Wing.
Rude Awakening & Sandesham
Abstract
In 1960, two hippies were forced to move to the jungle by the FBI due to an alleged crime they had committed. They spent 20 years there and thus isolated from the wat that had ensued in the country. In the 1980s, the returned finding their fellow friends very rich as opposed to how they were before they left for the jungle. Sandesham film talks about two brothers whose views on Kerala politics created differences between them, thus distressing their parents. Their political difference divided the once-proud family and destroying its future. Their behavior towards each other could make somebody thought they are not brothers.
Recommendations
Citizens have the potential to change their lives when given freedom. When they transform their lives economically, it will be reflected in the country’s overall economic growth (Cunningham, 65). The two hubbies in the film who left for the jungle due to criminal allegations did not find the opportunity to seek wealth as their fellow friends. After returning from the jungle, they found them wealthy and progressing well in life. The government should attempt to reduce criminal actions so that people may have a chance to contribute to the country’s economy. As seen in Sandesham, the political atmosphere in a country has the potential to either positively or negatively affect citizens. The two brothers supported different political parties that led to bred discord among them. At one point, their mother fell sick and was hospitalized, but none of the two brothers went to see her.
The Manchurian Candidate & Citizen Kane
Abstract
The Manchurian candidate movie was produced in 1962 in America to address the Cold War. John Frankheimer is the director and the producer of the film (Carruthers 81). Raymond Shaw, the Korean War veteran, is centralized in the plot. He was taken captive during the Korea conflict, where he was brainwashed. After his release to civilian life, Shaw started involving himself in the international communist conspiracy. Citizen Kane is a film that tells a story about a doomed media Mogul Charles Kane. Welles played the film, and it is based on W.R. Hearts. Charles married niece to U.S. president, who might be the reason he came to love politics (Welles 21). This is seen when he started taking a democratic stand against trade unionism and monopoly capitalism.
Recommendations
The film, The Manchurian Candidate, reveals the political differences between two superpower states who engage in conflict. The conflict id derived from the quest to be the world’s leader politically and economically. During this time, the USA was the Superpower country, followed by China. China wanted to displace the country from the position by first seeking to control the government (Bodó, Natali, and Claes 121). It is crucial to understand the expectations of the society in which we live. Failure to do so has its costs. Charles Kane never returned to his position to contest any political seat. From the film, the negative news about the affair between him and the singer was published in the newspaper, thus making it all over the country.
