Conclusion
The paper is focussed on ways in which artificial intelligence (AI) has contributed towards creating an efficient world. The paper is divided into two parts. Part 1 consists of an outline of the development of AI and its impact on humanity. Part 2 consists of debates and arguments on the same topic. The topic has been chosen because technology is developing at a faster rate and in our day-to-day life; the impact of intelligent machines is worth noting. It was interesting to understand the impact of AI and research has been done to compare and contrast the findings. Ways in which AI functions legally and ethically has been outlined in Part 1. It has been understood that AI reduces errors, makes tasks easier, applicable in day-to-day life, technology is unbiased, and ensures better work quality. Moreover, AI is easily manageable. On the other hand, it might generate unemployment and create security issues. Unlike a human being, AI is not creative and therefore, it is unable to solve issues as fast as a human being. The technology is quite expensive and easy fixation is not possible. In this part, rules and regulations for a meaningful debate have been set. The purpose of presenting the rules is to respect each other during the debate and stay polite while answering the questions. The rules of debate also emphasize on the importance of logical and evidence-based arguments. Moreover, the time has been allocated to each student so that they learn the importance of sharing information within a stipulated time.
In the second part of the paper, four arguments have been presented and warrant evidence for each has been presented as well. Lastly, the impact of each of these arguments and evidences has been outlined. Argument 1 suggests that AI-enabled machines are as intelligent as human beings. It has been argued that these machines operate based on computerized mechanisms. The example of hospitals has been cited under Warrant 1. It highlights that nowadays, hospitals operate effectively due to the advancement in AI. It is now doing a supervisory work and this, in turn, has reduced the number of errors. The impact of AI is wide. During hard times, it has the potential to solve issues, and it can be advantageous for humanity. The example of Apple gadgets and GPS has been cited. Similarly, claim 2 highlights the significance of radar mapping. It is useful in security purposes as well as military tasks. AI has enhanced the autonomy of humans, and interestingly, it is administered by humans only. The example of machine learning technology has been cited, and ways in which it “breaks in performance” by performing tasks quickly and manages calculations faster is worth noting. However, unemployment or loss of jobs is a serious issue and it can have a severe impact. In argument 3, the disadvantages of AI have been cited. Firstly, technical issues are bound to occur and loss of data such as recordings can also occur. It is evident that AI is expensive and managing costs might be an issue.
