Divine values theory
Meta-ethics is a study of moral language, moral thoughts, and beliefs. Meta-ethics seeks what is moral and what is immoral to provide a solution whether there can be an understanding of noble truths, attitudes, and honest feelings and explore knowledge on ethical disclosure as compared with other ways of writing and speech. Metaethics views whether opinions expressed about issues like warfare, vegetarianism, abortion, punishment, and inequality count as fact or their personal beliefs, which are continually competing for a say in a world of ideas but almost impossible to justify. Eventually, it seems like the right way to take insofar because there are no agreed decision ways for ethical controversies. On the other hand, we may understand that all moral opinions from whichever side are equally respectable and reputable or whether all are equally false. So as not to be biased and conviction that our ideas must be right even though other people and impossible to prove to dispute them.
We can argue that there are moral opinions, and others are immoral, basing our support from Divine Values Theory. This theory understands ethical principles as a reflection of the overall good that is inclusive, like God. God’s commands do not judge what is right, instead, the group informs the right, which is the unchanging God’s nature. It makes moral principles not arbitrary, nor distinct cultural constructs. A good thing is an image of the undisputed reality of God and his deeds. It eliminates any dilemma that exits in other ethical theories because it always provides a workable solution. Divine Values Theory support that morality is not arbitrarily dependent on God’s choices because honesty is an image of the unwavering nature of God.
Then there is no choice required so to prove what is right and eliminate any suggestion proposing a standard of morality apart from God to which God’s command conforms because the standard is with God or God is the standard. Values-based in Divine Values Theory comes from God and does not necessarily need preference or priority since all are from one ultimate source, God. Values serve as a guide for a moral decision, and people should not take emphasis on profits that they were only raised with because all of them have the same worth. Although making a moral judgment may not always be easy, it requires courage and practice. Public servants may feel more pressure since ethical choices they make always occurs under media coverage or public arena. Our core values should be the foundation of every decision we make because of the option to make maybe not always so clear or direct or no rules available to guide.
For instance, do I vote to put funds into health care or education? Do I support a colleague, even if I think he is not right? Do I keep my promise to support a bill, also if I reconsider my choice? It shows that we are and will always lued by right-versus wrong dilemmas. In whichever case, we should always make ethical decisions based on moral values that are divine. Even if a lot of people do not support or believe something, it does not mean it is false. Also, if I will stand alone, something that is moral does not need a majority vote or any vote at all. It is good since it comes from God, who is God of everything.
