Describe how the DNP project reflects the culmination of the attainment of the DNP Essentials?  How can the impact of the DNP-prepared nurse be framed in terms of structure, process, and outcomes?

Discuss how the impact of DNP practice will be realized in improved policy outcomes, improved patient outcomes, improved population outcomes, and improved system outcomes.

DNP projects should be recognized as doctoral work (Chism, 2019)  that influences a health care system and/or patients (Moran, Burson, & Conrad, 2017; Waldrop et al., 2014) The DNP project reflects  a culmination of Essentials 1 through 8  and are deemed  essential to the DNP project which fosters a theoretical research practice approach for all graduates in the DNP program of nursing for years (Hathaway et al. 2006)  regardless of a functional focus or specialty. DNP projects should focus on transforming a system or population  that can positively affect health care outcomes  directly or indirectly.  However, substantial  information or framework  about structure, process, and outcomes of DNP projects is scarce and need to be further evaluated.  The DNP project should be conducted in setting similar with the program of study (e.g.,  Older adult or NP in MD’s offices) the plan should be evaluated for process and outcomes that are sustainable.

DNP essentials

The DNP essentials represents the elements in the curriculum for the Doctor of nursing practice. The element are present in every DNP practice. The essentials are the core basis foundations for competency and advanced roles in nursing. The DNP is categorized as a degree title. This is the same as the MSN and PhD. It prepares the graduates when operating as practitioners in different capacities. The DNP certificate is important in the following disciplines; Registered nurses, Midwives, Clinical nurse’s practitioners, Clinical nurse Specialists, nurse practitioners and nurse anesthetics.  Each and every DNP essential is are specific to the area of specialization for every practitioner. Each essential is to produce a different outcome. Therefore the curriculum taught will defer depending on what the students are being prepared for.

This Curriculum (DNP) has two elements;

1. The 1^st essential which runs to 8^th. Which highlights Basics foundations for every DNP program irrespective of the specialty or function.
2. Competency content, this are preparations
3. Scientific underpinnings for practice

Doctorate practice in nursing ensures terminal preparation for it.

The nursing subject covers the following:

1. Fundamental laws of life, good health and the well function of human beings.
2. Relationship between human beings and the environment in normal and complicated life situations.

• The methods by which positive significance of health matters are affected.

1. Regular health of human beings so that they continue relating with the environment.

DNP graduates have get to understand a lot of this concepts to enable them serve competently to patients in demand of the environmental interaction. This issue require a lot of practical scientific knowledge. It is wide to provide general study in both the social, Physical and natural sciences. The sciences that provide the prerequisite for the practice are; Genomics, Biology, Therapeutic science, science of psychosocial and complex organization. The science has created a general image of nursing practice and broadening of new scientific underpinnings of the subject. It explains how the theoretical nursing concepts evolved.

The discipline also sets the graduates to;

1. Relate nursing science with organizational, ethical, psychosocial, biophysical science as the primary nursing practices.
2. Use theoretical concepts in science to;

• Find out the nature and importance of healthcare delivery.
• Understand procedures to improve the health of individuals.
• Analyze outcomes of healthcare.
• Come up with new ideas based on the nursing science and other related subjects from the theory context.

2. Clinical scholarship and analytical methods for evidence-based practice

The essence of doctoral education is scholarship and research skills. This method deals with converting the research analysis into a practice that that can be implemented in the healthcare sector. The process enhances the new discoveries to help solving the complicated health risk in the field of nursing. The graduate provide evidence through their practice to help improve the health status of the patients at risk.

The discipline provides the graduate with skills to;

1. Gather reliable and accurate information as evidence for practice.
2. Improve the databases that provide the evidence of nursing practice information.

• To study the behavioral patterns of the research outcomes.

1. To examine the ideologies and missed information in the nursing practice.
2. To find out and interpret the possible outcomes of healthcare practice.

3. Inter-professional collaboration for improving patient and population health outcomes

The current complicate multi-organizational health provides quality health care attention that can help to improve the patient’s life faster compared to independent professionals. These inter-professional teams operate in a highly organized manner. The graduates and prepare to collaborate in teams and this ensures team leadership that improves the future of healthcare.

The discipline enable the graduates to;

1. Acquire good collaborative and communication skill to assist in the nursing practice.
2. Become effective team leaders to interpret and analyze complicated situations in the practice.

• Apply leadership skills and involve inter-professional teams to contribute in improve the healthcare delivery.

4. Clinical prevention and population health for improving nation’s health

Clinical prevention refers to health improvement and reduction of risks of illness of people and their families while population health is the community, occupation, cultural and social dimensions of health. The goal of clinical prevention is to ensure improved health standards of the entire population of a nation. For instance, unhealthy standard of living have contributed to 50%   of deaths that can prevented in the United States.   Graduate engage in leadership to gain standard clinical prevention measures to improve health.

The subject prepares the graduate to;

1. Analyze scientific data including epidemics and biostatistics to individual and Population health.
2. Acquire concepts in biological and psychosocial diversity concerned with the prevention to address health on population.

• Evaluate healthcare related strategies using community and social dimensions mechanisms of health evaluation.

5. Advanced Nursing Practice

The development of health care systems and new sophisticated ideas has prompted specialization particularly in nursing in order to cater for the very complex areas in practice. This

is because of the inability of any individuals to master all the difficult and sophisticated areas. This specialization has led to the mastery of one area of study. This essential requires individual to master skills that relate to the specialties. This is a very special requisite for DNP. They are supposed to apply the biophysical, sociopolitical, economic, psychosocial, cultural and nursing science effectively in their area of specialization. The learning experiences provided by the DNP should inform decisions and the care of the patients.

The program equips the graduate in;

1. Performing a systematic and comprehensive health analysis in illnesses in complex scenarios and making informed decisions.
2. Being able to evaluate and intervene based on different sciences.
3. Develop good relationship with patients in therapeutic.
5. Be able to show advanced clinical judgements.

Project Consensus

The DNP essential were used as act as guide to clarify this paper.  It was agreed that this work would be referred to as a DNP project.

All the essentials were never supposed to be added to this project.

The project should address the following;

• Impacts on the health care either directly or indirectly.
• The focus should be on the population (macro, meso and Micro-level).
• Implementation on the area of study.
• All the specialties and plans must be sustainable.
• Include the evaluation process and foundation for future practice.
