Dorcas suffered sores on her tongue in May 2019. These were misdiagnosed as thrush and treated in various hospitals in Machakos county to no relive. A biopsy in September, performed at the Machakos General hospital, confirmed the presence of cancerous cells and recommended surgery as a primary intervention.

Treatment

The surgery was conducted on December 19, 2019, at the Nairobi University Dental School. After recovery, the doctors recommended radiotherapy treatment to extinguish any remaining calls and deter regrowth.

Dorcas started her clinic at the Kenyatta National Hospital in February 2020. The Oncologist prescribed 33 rounds of radiotherapy and three sessions of Chemotherapy treatments, which commenced in May.
